http://www.playfuls.com/news_9923_165000_PS3s_Sold_In_UK_Over_20000_In_Aus tralia.html

Summary, they sold 165,000 in their opening weekend. Compared to 105,000 Wiis and 70,000 X-Box 360s in their opening weekends.

Got to admit, I'm very surprised.

So Englanders enjoy getting ripped off.

We live in rip-off Britain.

everything looks cheap when you pay about 9$ for an average return tube ticket in London, or 100$ for an average pasta and average wine for 2 on an average London restaurant

ass love doesn't hurt when your bum hole is the size of a 50p coin

well, the other thing is that comparatively, the numbers of wii in particular were (and still are) very limited to begin with, whereas sony made sure the shelves were full on release day

see how sales pan-out after six months.

either way sony still has massive brand recognition and people have money in their pockets.

Yeah, Sony sold 165,000 out of 220,000 I think the other two sold out.

I am speaks not from my ass!

I'd be surprised to know how many owners of previous consoles bought it. i suspect quite a few Wii owners, but probably not that many 360ers

I can't believe you didn't make this a news item.

Were you afraid of pulling a Venom and making 11 posts?

I thought about it afterwards, but then it was too late.

Sales of the PlayStation 3 have dropped dramatically on the second week of release in the UK, with official Chart Track figures revealing a fall of 82 per cent, GamesIndustry.biz is reporting.

As Sven would say: first week good, second week not so good.

A rise in the number of Wii units dished out to retailers has lead to chocolate-like popularity of the console this Easter, with Nintendo telling GamesIndustry.biz it had sold more than 25,000 last week in the UK alone.

Leaked Chart-Track figures showed that 17,000 PlayStation 3 units were shifted during the same period, while the figure for Xbox 360 stood at 11,000.

basically everything ninty can ship here is selling. certainly i know you can't buy anything that's not part of some bloody bundle deal. i and a guy from work have been after one for ages now with no luck.

Downloaded the GTA IV teaser trailer last week, i'm very tempted to get a ps3 for that.... now I will have to find the 1640 for the full hd tv console and game!

It's a good thing Sony has lost almost all of their exclusive titles.

King_Ghidra
13-04-2007, 09:25:34
certainly for us 360 owners

i was reading some realy funny excerpts from fans of series like Devil May Cry going apeshit on message boards over the news that those games would not be exclusive any more

i may be recalling this wrong but i think even future Final Fantasy games will be multi-platform. understandably some ps3 owners feel they've been tricked by sony on the basis their only chance to play these games was perceived to be with a ps3

My understanding was that the decision about FF exclusivity hadn't been finalised yet, but I'm not an avid follower of gaming news. I'll have to keep an eye out for that.

Still not 100% made up my mind which console I will get. My brother has just bought a 360 so I guess I can give that a test drive now.

I definitely want to get a PSP. Handheld Football Manager sounds like the dogs bollocks.

It's gotta be hard for these gaming companies to keep these exclusives exlcusive. You know MS is throwing around big bucks. Too fucking bad Sony fanboys.

Makes it a bit more desirable, especially if you have a PS/PS2.
