#1 - Cheering on those grotty grey piles of shoveled-up snow that never seem to melt. Those that survive till the next cold snap are rewarded with a front-page story in the local rag. The non-survivors each have entries on the obituaries page. Dedicated enthusiasts have even been known to keep their favorite piles of sludge in the freezer during summer months.
