What's wrong with Newport News News?

JM^3
14-02-2007, 09:12:45
Hampton Roads + Yorktown + Newport News are all one area and sort of grouped together. If I want to go some place I often start in Newport News, go to Hampton Roads, and then back to Newport News.

They are long thin cities, for some reason. I guess that it was just decided that Hampton Roads would be where the newspaper was.

Funko

That's disappointing.

JM^3

Probably just because they don't like News News

Funko

The paper could have a section about the events within the paper called the Newport News News News.

We had this question before. The Mad Monk found a Newport News Times (http://www.newportnewstimes.com/). Such a missed opportunity.

we already had jokes about Newport News Sport News IIRC

Funko

Did I ask it before? Probably.

Anyway it's still funny.

In Rotterdam last time we were telling Zopper how funny ChipKnip was, he said "still after 3 years?" and then we realised that we'd found it funny before and forgotten.

Isn't alcohol great.

Funko

That was unintentional. It seems I've suggested that

MoSe = Venom = stupid fat lazy loser

And MoSe thinks it's cool. :hmm:

Hampton roads, to confuse things futher, is actually a conurbation right? Of Virginia Beach and Norfolk and stuff. (I researched it once for a radio show, Timbaland, Missy Elliott and The Neptunes are all from there.)

JM^3
14-02-2007, 19:49:01
Nope

There are three land masses

On one is:
Newport News, Hampton Roads, Yorktown, Williamsburg

On another is:
Norfolk, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake

The third is Maryland, not Virginia, but there aren't any major cities/towns there.
