I'd not heard about it until yesterday, but it looks pretty swish from this little video, even just as an iPod update.

Outside the building, BBC News Online happened upon Steve Wozniak, the co-founder of Apple, who was leaving the keynote on his Segway transportation device.

 wanker

Mr Wozniak said he was in tears at the announcement.

 even more wanker

Anyway, joking aside, it does look pretty cool.

Still at a probable 300+ on launch i wonder what the take-up will be. I could see myself paying 150-100 for something like that, but prices won't hit that range for a good year or two after launch.

$499 with a 2 year contract? Seems like Apple's hit the microsoft business model. Charge more than something's worth just because they can.

IMO It's not going to have the same effect as the iPod as there are loads of competitors already in the market.
I can already download music and video and take 2 megapixel pics (or probably higher) on an ordinary 3G phone. So if I can get a decent 3G phone for free on a 3G contract would I pay 335 extra for something that'll whilst it looks really cool will probably be half the price and/or obsolete in a year? Nope.

Agreed. I think they're about a year and a half too late with this thing. To get new users that is. Like the french fucker said, the Apple/iPod fanboys will eat this thing up.

Even funnier is they want $500-$600 for it, on a 2 year contract.

Even funnier still is Cisco is now suing Apple, as they've owned an trademark on iPhone for about 8 years now and have recently released a product of the same name...

Yes, that sounds precisely like Microsoft's consumer electronics strategy with the Xbox.

That's what they do when they want to gain market share. On shit they already own they rip people off. *cough*OS Market*cough*Office*cough*

Don't get all jumpy asher. Lots of companies do it. Adobe rips people off with the new photoshop versions.

The reason I know this is a stupid idea: my brother in law wants one, and he is the most implusive, fanboy shopper on earth.

Probably got his prick caught in the giroscope!
