My picks-

Pan's Labyrinth
The Proposition

I'll add Downfall and The Descent, even though they came out in late 2005. King Kong would have made it, if it was a good hour shorter.

I didn't really watch many new films this year. Which means I'm voting for Jackass 2.

Immortal Wombat

Me neither. I saw Pirates of the Caribbean in German, Fearless in French, and Borat on YouTube, and I sold my Casino Royale ticket.

I liked:
Hidden (French film)
The Hills Have Eyes
The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada
London to Brighton
The Departed

Turkey of the year: Wicker Man remake. CRAP!

The Departed is my favourite. I also enjoyed Casino Royale (not so much because it was truly excellent, but because it was such a good revival of a much loved series.) Nightwatch (a Russian film) was also pretty good (considering it was Russian made!)

Haven't been many films this year I have truly thought shone.

Can I add Downfall too? As I kind of only saw it this year.

Children of Men would make it, as would A scanner darkly.

Ah, can I throw "Tsotsi" in too? A very moving and extremely beautifully shot film. It pains a vividly colourful and gritty view of Jo'burg and Soweto, defintely recommend it, best film I've seen in a long while...

Definitely Pan's Labyrinthe!

The Prestige was great fun too...

I've been a bit shit seeing films this year (er last year), such is the paucity that I will have to include Casino Royale as well.

Meant to see Children of Men...:(

I think I have seen like 3 films this last year. Which is pretty usual for me.
