Our water is still very turbid. No word yet if drinking it without boiling it will cause you to go blind.

We got off lucky in Victoria. We missed the drought that hit upisland a few months ago, and the floods that hit the lower mainland (we did get the huge dump of rain, but it just ran off into the ocean or something).

Of course, it snowed a bit today, and the whole damn city shut down.

I woke up to a freaking winter wonderland this morning. The city will be brought to a standstill.

I can deal with the four block walk to work, but I hate having to put up with the rest of the country making fun of us for our complete inability to deal with a few inches of snow, as they do once every five years or so.

My nightmare is that it snows during the 2010 Olympics.

I wish I lived 4 blocks from work. Anything less than a mile, really.

We lost power for 2 or 3 hours today, and several trees have fallen down. All the schools in town were closed, and the transit system was only running on the main streets. They're predicting another 5-10 cm of snow for tonight (we've had about 20-25 cm where I live in the last 24 hours). I hope the University is open.
