What do you get after several weeks of heavy rain? A water shortage.

Yesterday morning I noticed that our tap water turned yellow, smelly and cloudy. Possible candidate for a best foriegn film award. Not sure if the reservoir simply overflowed its banks or there was a big mudslide.

The boil water advisory went out. I worked late yesterday and my wife got preoccupied with working out the logistics to a free internet phone with Lal in India after getting back from her job. By the time we went to the stores for bottled water it was all gone. All the big grocery stores and drugstores were sold out. There is something silly about roving bands of people searching for water during a downpour.

What do you think about golf umbrellas? I think they are fine - for a golf course. On a crowded city street they are an irritation for everyone else because of their size.

This is my PSA for today: be kind to others - leave your golf umbrella at home.

I'm guessing you are in the Vancouver area. Someone at another site lives in Vancouver BC, and they had water problems too.

Yes. Downtown Vancouver.

The water advisory is still in effect but it doesn't look so wretched anymore. Today and yesterday there were several hours when it did not rain. Bottled water is now readily available but we are mostly just boiling tap water.

Haven't had Moose in a while. It's sunny here and we have water.

Still boring as hell though.
