My new shoes are the bollocks. A pair of light slip-on cotton pumps in black, covered in prints of gold skulls. They look like the gym shoes of Satan in his New Romantic phase.

The Indians asked their Chief in autumn if the winter was going to be cold or not. Not really knowing an answer, the chief replies that the winter was going to be cold, and that the members of the village were to collect wood to be prepared for a cold winter.
Being a good leader, he then went to the next phone booth and called the National Weather Service and asked, "Is this winter to be cold?"
The man on the phone responded, "This winter was going to be quite cold indeed."
So the Chief went back to speed up his people to collect even more wood to be prepared. A week later he called the
National Weather Service again, "Is it going to be a very cold winter?"
"Yes", the man replied, "it's going to be a very cold winter."
So the Chief goes back to his people and orders them to go and find every scrap of wood they can find.
Two weeks later he calls the National Weather Service again
"Are you absolutely sure that the winter is going to be very cold?" "Absolutely, we did a study," the weatherman replies. "The Indians are collecting wood like crazy!"

It's the last time I go to that supermarket, I can tell you.

Ok, I'm jealous, they are very very cool, do you wear them with your skinny jeans?

When you have cart-horse thighs, skinny jeans aren't really an option.

"winterclothes" was supposed to be this weekend, but it turned out to be "clean the garage, shop for sneakers and two area rugs, move a table to the attic (oh yes, the attic), and discover what's making that noise in the chimney at night", leaving little time for World of Warcraft, let alone winterclothes.

I still don't know what's making that noise, but its definitely in the chimney, and not in the walls. I offered to start the fireplace to "drive it away", but got vetoed. She's been talking about calling the chimney sweep anyway, I'll let him find the surprise.

I live in the desert, so no. I rarely wear a coat even in winter (though I like to prove I'm manly by not wearing a coat in 30 degree weather).

But I do hate October. The only month where I sometimes have to run the heat and A/C in the same month. Irritating. though I dind't have to run the A/C this month. But I have had to run the space heater in the bathroom. I hate freezing to death when getting in the shower.

I didn't remember posting in this thread, so I thought to add one now.
I checked again, and I found that I had already posted one year ago the exact post I wanted to add now.

The old one was eventually better too...

To the old story? Don't know where that is but short version. Ah, Edit, found the long version.

http://www.counterglow.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=27924&highlight=winter+clothes

Short version.

MDA and his wife are swapping winterclothes out of the main closet and moving summer clothes into storage in another closet.

MDA sees a big pile of clothes on the floor and says "what about them?"

His wife says "those are the ones that don't fit"

MDA thinks carefully, knowing it's a dangerous situation, and says "well, keep up the exercise etc. blah blah"

MDA's wife says. "I mean they are the ones that don't fit in the closet."
