View Full Version : Please, just make it stop...

Kitsuki

My cowie has been regaling me with boring stories about child care, dinner time rules and bedtimes for children for 30 minutes, unprompted, uninterupted and uninvited.

Despite the fact that I have only responded with an array of grunts and non-commital "yeah"s, she carries on with her monologue.

How do I stop this?

A "Shut the fuck up" ussually works.

Kill her and everyone else that might witness you doing it.

Funko

Lateral thinking solution: kill her kid.

Gary

An "I'm glad for you but I'm not really interested, thanks", may just work.

Or if you can't face the wrath, take a trip to the pub (or something) to get away.

Kitsuki
18-10-2006, 11:17:11
She is still going. I haven't even grunted for five minutes, or looked at her.

Tizzy
18-10-2006, 11:23:38
You can't just get up and walk away?

Kitsuki
18-10-2006, 11:29:13
This is my desk, she sits diagonally opposite to me.

Thankfully she has gone for lunch now. If it starts up after she gets back I think I will try a combination of the above suggestions...

If she is married/in a long term relationship, she might think this is good conversation.

2. kick her in the balls

Gas and bleching is the solution here.

A few well placed bombs will shut her the fuck up.

Luckily for Kitsuki he will probably not be startled by tricky inserts, like: 'did you hear what I just said?'

Kitsuki

I almost parodied the Burger King advert by replying "Terracota?"

my only way to deal with that is to think my wife doesn't really want an active involvement in the conversation, but just vent.

I once witnessed a presentation of a Finnish civil servant (with the same outgoing personality as other finns, like Kimi Raikonen). In a boring and monotonous voice he was talking about broadband. He said an 8 Mb down and 1 Mb up connection wasn't really broadband, but more like having a conversation with his wife, very one sided.

I sometimes wonder if this issue is related to the times when Tizzy says she's told me about something and I claim I've never heard of it.

Gary

Don't be fooled. I get that often and have concluded that women expect men to be mind readers. Tizz probably thought about telling you, so that counts. :)

Glue her phone together so it can't be answered, and then ring it from a hidden mobile whenever she speaks.

Kitsuki

Today she whined about her boyfriend for 15 mins in much the same way as she did her child yesterday. Apparently "he doesn't pay attention to her."

I feel his pain, but I don't see why I'm dealing with the backlash.

I feel his pain, but I don't see why I'm dealing with the backlash. At least he's getting laid out of listening to her. I suggest pointing out that to her, and stating that you won't put up with any more until she puts out. Fair's fair after all.

Today is her birthday. So she booked a day off work. Fair enough. No whining.

Until 15 minutes ago.

When she turned up (ON A FUCKING DAY OFF!), plonked herself down next to me, and started complaining her boyfriend didn't take the day off work, and isn't doing enough for her birthday.

I DONT CARE! I DONT GIVE A FUCK!
