Cool, it's a n-ice place - if you can, do a circumnavigation of the country!:)

I've been there and it is a fab place to visit but very expensive. The landscapes are barren and volcanic but beautiful at the same time and the people are great , I was based in reykjavik but if you get the time go to akureyri (internal flight) and take a tour up there. The blue lagoon is well worth a visit and has the best bar - you can sit in the thermal waters and a waiter will come and take your beer order and bring it out to the pool and payment is via electronic wrist tag, if you are lucky they may also have a DJ mixing live. - absolutely brilliant. A night trip out to see the aurora borealis is well worth the effort as it can be spectacular.
If i did it again i would hire a 4x4 and tour the country a bit more. There are plenty of organised tours available and i did go on one or two ( be advised that they like pointing out their churches !) some of the waterfalls and geysirs were spectacular and i was also able to stand on the american and eurpoean tectonic plates where they joined in the pinvellr national park, I also got the chance to walk on a glacier which was spectacular.
Hope you have a fab time whilst you are out there and get some good photos. :)

Apparently the plushest, most comfy jails in Western Europe. So don't despair if you are arrested upon arrival.

I would suggest that you update Wikipedia with a few pertinant facts, but I see that you've finally been driven off by the inanity. Anyway, have a good time.

I was there for a year back in the early 80's. The Icelandic National forest had about 6 trees or there abouts, all the fire and ice stuff is pretty cool though, I used to hang out in the steam polls outside of Keflavik in the winter quite a bit, watching the northern lights......................

Unfortunately I'm here for work so I'm not getting to see too much of the country but as this is my third trip to Iceland this year I have managed to get around most of the golden circle.

Was in Keflavik all day and the view from the beach into the bay was just amazing. Evening in the Blue Lagoon and a very decent curry for dinner.

Its bleeding baltic right now!

Are you going whaling?

You mean the harpooning fat chicks kind of whaling or the slaying of sea mammals?

Whatever floats your whaling boat.

:D This is some kind of concerted Icelandic effort to create a circle of urine around their country, right?...
