for a kid who stuck the middle bit of a biro down a gas tap and then snapped it off so it wouldnt turn off.

I was gunning for crucifiction but apparently thats no longer allowed :(

Lock him in there with some cigarettes and a lighter. If he's half as dumb as he sounds nature will take its course quite quickly.

I take it that it's a lab class?

Have him plug the nozzle with his finger until maintenance can come by and fix it.

With any luck, he'll get a gas embollism and stroke out, and you won't have to worry about him goofing around in lab anymore.
