Some are quite funny, this I like the most :D

In the category of Stupidest Statement of the Year, a comment by Cheney's shooting victim Harry Whittington was the clear winner. After Cheney shot him, Whittington, a lawyer said: "My family and I are deeply sorry for all that Vice President Cheney and his family have had to go through this past week."

Personally I think Nick Flynn was absolutely correct. Too many authorities leave a dangerous or unfortunate situation alone, simply because when the 'inevitable' eventually happens, someone else involved will get the flak, not them. I sometimes wonder if they do it out of an inability to forecast the problem, or a warped sense of humour.

Maybe they just really enjoy doing 3D, three-thousand piece, ceramic jigsaw puzzles to reconstruct priceless china vases, every once in a while?

"1) Zinedine Zidane head butts Marco Materazzi in the World Cup final and is ejected."

I believe the word is sent of. We do not "eject" (either in space or elsewhere) people here.

:D Probably those who have to do do do the jig saws are different folk to those who make the management decisions on the risk taken with the exhibits.

But it's not just in museums this lack of foresight appears. One sees it every time a car leaves the road and is able to land on a railway track.

Or even at the end of my road where they changed priorities at a fork so instead of a "straight on" to the right and a relatively safe left turn, if required, we now have a "straight on" to the left, and a dangerous right turn on a corner where one can not see if there is oncoming traffic (because of the bend and parked vehicles) until one is already in its path.
