As it stands currently it'll be on the 20th June in Mojos bar, Reading Students union with Left Side Brain and another support band + DJs. It's going to be the Reading Uni Rock Society end of year party and should be a great night.

The Frome gig is still on hold as the venue keeps rescheduling 'cause their refurbishments keep taking longer than expected.

Just got an e-mail from Oli @ LSB as well about Frome.

frome gig (working title: VOLUME 2002) is now definitely sat 27th july and should be HUGE. line-up should be as follows:
*
Reuben, Goatboy, Left Side Brain, Imperial Leisure, The Unholy
*
both reuben & goatboy are currently doing very well for themselves - reuben with lots of mtv exposure, next big thing status, etc; and goatboy with good reviews for their new album, upcoming glastonbury appearance, etc. i'm hoping to use this to blag some decent sponsorship for the event to boost the attendance even more. an 800 capacity sell-out would be amazing although i think that would be a lot of luck as much as hard work

to blag?

to blag, to acquire (implies some aspect of bluff/con/theft but doesn't necessarily mean that)

Ah so!

It can also mean to trick or con or sneak as in "How did you get in here?" "I blagged it"

Never heard that word before.

It's English slang. Pretty sophisticated. You might not be able to comprehend it.

Venom: You've never seen 'The Sweeney'? Classic Brit cop series from waaaay back. 'Blag' must have been used about every fourth word.

Oh yes of course I've seen an old shit British TV show.

Sorry, forgot your handicap of living over the water. There would have been far too much violence and nudity for any of your channels to screen it before things like Showtime and HBO came along.

Barring major catastrophes, I'll make it to Frome.

Excellent.

You are probably more likely to make it than we are at the moment. :D

That can only be a good thing.

Blagging also means to go out to feel collars (immigration style).
