Who's buying? On what formats?

I'll be tempted to pick up a copy, what with me having like two games for my 360.

Those games suck. Or perhaps, more accurately, I suck at them and therefore reject them.

And here I am. I'm planning on getting it for my 360, as I only have 3 games. They'd better do it more justice than that half ass version they did for the 360 last year.

I respond and the thread's already been abandoned.

I couldn't think of anything else to say :(

Shame they didn't make madden 2004 backwards compatible, i wanted to brush up on my skills before buying the new one.

Season starts on last weekend of august, right? I was reading about the hall of fame inductions this week. How come it took so long for madden to get in? his coaching record is incredible.

I'm not sure why it took so long. May have been because he didn't coach very long and they weren't sure if his broadcasting work and video game work warranted such an honor. I think they do, even without his coaching history.

I shall be purchasing this for the PS2

...oh they've not dumped that god awful Superstar mode yet.

Not sure why they're so intent on turning football games into RPGs.

Yeah, we all like to create ourselves as a player, but I think it's more fun to just stick him on a roster. Not build some game mode around it.

Still, I haven't bought a new Madden since 2003 so it's time.

i realised last night that it was madden 2003 i had for my xbox. i gave it a whirl for old time's sake. i don't know what the general opinion of it is but i think it's pretty excellent.

the graphics still look great, the animations on the players are really good.

being a noob i had to play on rookie setting, and offensively it was a breeze but defensively it was horrible, i seemed to have major trouble in particular with getting burned on long passes, and my defensive line was getting very little pressure on the QB (and this was playing with at-the-time NFC champions the rams).

Also does the rookie setting mean tackles are more likely to be broken? both my own players and the computer players were bouncing down the field like human tops sometimes.

2003 is still a great game. That's why I never replaced it. No need to. But with the next gen graphics and HD, I figure it's a good time.

The key to not getting beat in the passing game in pretty much all the EA football games, at all the levels, is pressure on the QB. You have to learn how to bust through the line and get to the QB. You don't have to sack him, but make him rush the throw and you'll be ok. Otherwise he won't miss his passes unless you call the perfect defense.

I would think the rookie setting would only effect your players when breaking tackles. I would think it would be easier to tackle the COMP players on the rookie level.

I've got a copy of the NTSC version which will work on my XBox. Going to install it and play tonight.

I've never actually tried an NFL game - well that's a lie. I used to play Grid Iron on the BBC.

Wow. I just found out the only way to exit from the instant replay screen is ctrl+alt+canc and terminate the game.

Amazing. It seems they forgot to configure the exit button in the PC version and the marvellous thing is that you can't remap that key to anything else.

How stupid can they be?
