Being a bit of a Guillermo Del Toro fan (I even enjoyed "Hellboy", even if it was a bit of a departure), this is the first film of the year that I'm actually excited about. It looks spectacularly weird.

Anyone seen it yet?

It's now receiving rave reviews off the back of Cannes and the horror circuit festivals. Looks like being one of the best films of the year.

If I keep posting about it, people will start caring. Then they will bless the memory of my foresight.

The title would indicate a high level of gayness.

"Hellboy" was trash, but great fun. I think it'll prove to be a one-off in Del Toro's lifetime.

"Pan's Labyrinth" looks very different. It's a dark fantasy set in fascist Spain, centring a young girl's nightmarish fantasy world. It'll be an award-winner for the year.

bah... it has good reviews, but I have to be in a certain mood for subtitled flicks

It's out in just over a fortnight. Empire has given it a 5-star rating, and Empire doesn't give them out too often.

Film of the year, that's what I reckon. It looks tremendous. You heard it here first.

Hmm, sounds interesting. Unfortunately I don't watch too many movies currently.

it's coming out in limited release in the states. Hasn't opened yet but it does look interesting.

Annoyingly it is only playing at one cinema here in Cardiff and I'm not sure if I have the time to see it this week - hopefully it'll still be playing next week...!

Yaaay! It was still showing this w/e (lots of people too!)...

Saw Pan's Labyrinth yesterday - absolutely amazing!

Guillermo del Toro manages to weave the stuff of fairytales with WWII Franco Spain still going after the last remnants of the civil war communists. If you saw the Devil's Backbone, you'll love this!

Saw this last week. It has been out just over a month and it was showing in one of the mainstream cinemas in Manchester city centre. Very impressed by it, weird how they mix the weird supernatural element to the harsh and very brutal (some guy getting his face repeatedly smashed in with the end of a broken bottle) story of Spanish Civil War.

Just watched it, the best movie I have seen in a year.

i went and saw it last weekend. I LOVED it. If was a bit graphic for me in places, but it don't think it was tacky.

It picked up three Oscars- art direction, cinematography and make-up.

Y'see? I only pick out the good stuff for you.

Very good but I have a hard time watching the violence. Jesus..some of that stuff was cringeworthy.

I recommended it to kids.. I did note that 6 might be a little young for it though.
