Anyone know much about it ?

In particular how many years should the gas last before one can expect to need to rechange a car a/c ?

My car has air conditioning and I have not had any bother with it to date

And that's how long ?

Made a quick Net search and the only mention I've found suggests every 2 years ! And since they are quoting 85 (plus this that and the other) it's no joke.

I don't recall the dealer telling me the inconvenience and cost factor was going to be so high when I enquired about the option :(

I'd just go until it stops, and then get it changed. Not like it going out will hurt the car, it'll just make it uncomfortable for you in the meantime. My truck is a '98 and it has never been changed and I use it a lot.

I like a nice cool breeze on my balls. Invigorating.

That's the problem, it seems to stop over each winter. OK maybe my memory isn't 100% and maybe it lasts 2 years sometimes (but I don't think so). Since I don't have to recharge the kitchen fridge every year I was assuming that the car ones ran ok for much the same time period. Not so it seems.

that's strange that it stops every winter

if it works leave it alone, i do!

but the thing is wether you need to change the filters or something (which must be very low cost) so you protect your health
