View Full Version : CG MMO players, want in the VG beta as a guild Post here.

HelloKitty

Ok. Vanguard is taking the applications for guild Betas now.

I am submitting CKU for a guild beta slot as a casual guild.

I have a list of CKU members from EVE available but don't have the players of WoW, GW, or any other people still lurking on old games (saga of ry, SWG, eq1,2 ,etc.

If you want listed as part of the current guild I need the following info.

Games you are playing with CG /CKU members
If inactive, any MMOs games you have played with CG/CKU.
A PM with your current e-mail address. (or post it here if you want)

I am listing Nav and I as the "officers" since I am CEO and he is CFO of CKU in EVE. I would like someone from the WoW groups to represent as well.

I know some of you are fragmented to US and EU server for WoW, Shiney or MDA if either of you are interested tell me since we can use the WoW CGers represented.

Even angry Asher can participate if we are chosen.

Anyway, I will probably submit the form in the next few days. Once submitted the list of names and e-mail addresses is FINAL so please post soon.

Sounds like fun. Alas, I fear I will be addicted to this too. And then have to choose between two MMO mistresses.

HelloKitty
14-06-2006, 05:39:07
well we aren't 100% in. Depends on what other guilds apply and what they are looking for between raid, casual, RP etc guilds and relative sizes.

Can't hurt to be on the list.

DaShi
14-06-2006, 05:46:23
I'll send my info. But the only MMO's I've played have been EVE and GW, so I doubt I can contribute much. The good news is that I should have a faster internet connection by the time this starts.

HelloKitty
14-06-2006, 05:50:58
You don't neeed exp beta testing. The point is to get guilds playtesting the game, so beta testers with premade groups of friends.

The game is 60% group, 20% solo 20% raid.

It just lets them test the group content much quicke if people come with buddies as agroup and play together.

If a guild gets accepted, the whole guld gets in, not just some members.

Anarchy Online
Guild Wars
City of Heroes
EVE Online *
Saga of Ryzom *

Played all of those with Jon (and EVE with a whole bunch of you folks).

* indicates games currently playing -- could probably put a * next to GW as well, but currently all I do is update the client, look at my characters for a minute or two, then log off and play EVE or browse the web

OK - have played eve and planetside but only eve with CG people.

Kitsuki
14-06-2006, 08:27:51
I havent played with CG people (bar Matt was on the same WoW side)

But if you want me anyway as a CG personage, I play World of Warcraft - and here is the bonus - I write articles and news for www.curse-gaming.com which is one of the biggest MMO sites around - so that could add extra appeal to our application.... ;)

I'll PM you my address. :)

If inactive, any MMOs games you have played with CG/CKU:

EVE (for a couple of weeks)
I met Scud Wallaby in UO once (does that count? :D)

I did play GW a bit and I'm still playing WoW and as of recently EQ2 again, but none of those with CG people.

MDA

WoW for a bit with Qaj - he's moved on to a server that isn't clustered with the PTR.

EVE
COH (with Kitty and Fugue and Arlanna and M) & COV with same..
GW (Kitty and Fugue)
SWG (with Arlanna, Venom, and Lurker (and Kitty))
FFXI (with M)
EQ2 (with Arlanna)
WOW (with Arlanna and M)
AO (with Arlanna, M, and Fugue)
Saga of Ryzom (with Fugue)

hmm, am I forgetting anyone?

Kitty honestly just gave me money in SWG, and we just chatted in GW

but we teamed in COV some

and I don't think Arlanna ever joined CKU, I think M**** did, but hasn't joined the board.

Jon, the name you are thinking of is Mraal.

HK- Well the only MMO I have played is Eve, so I won't have a clue but if they want a complete novice girly point of view then I may be able to help out

HelloKitty

Agian, they aren't looking at te quality of members for this selection. They are just looking for different types of guilds to throw all their members into the game and see what happens. Closer to what will happen on release.

The real testers are the people who they select from the beta pool that submitted individual applications.

The BF desperately wants into the beta. Is it okay to sign us both up?

Centara Fugue

Hmmm, Jon mentioned them already, and as he said I think Mraal is a member of CKU, but Arlanna may not be (even though he comes by the chat channel from time to time), and I know both of them would be interested in joining in the fun.

Arlanna never joined us? News to me.

Thats fine though. If they want to join up with us thats ok.

Its not like these aren't the people who play with the CKU/CG members. We aren't just randomly saying "Hey interweb, get on our list!!!"

I had that problem too, but if you use the "forgot your password" link, it will reset your password and send you a randomly generated one in your email. Then you can make it whatever you want after you log in, and all will be right with the world. There's even a link in the password reset email that takes you straight to the change password page.

HelloKitty

Site was updated the last few days.

Beta 3 will start this month (the move to SOE servers etc is complete) and there is a bunch of new lore crap with screenshots up.

Keep in mind the screenshots don't include the "grime" layer of graphics yet so everything looks clean and pretty.

Greg W

No idea how I managed to miss this thread. But if the guild gets in, and there's a spot available, I'd be happy to grab one.

HelloKitty
11-08-2006, 19:08:22
Well everything is finally done.

Beta 3 started 2 weks ago on the SOE servers for the in house. They finished moving all the old testers over.

This morning the new invites were being sent out.

They plan to send out 250-500 invites each weekday.

If you do get in but the guild doesn't, don't forget about us with the buddy key invite you will be getting.

And don't post NDA breaking stuff here.

Centara Fugue

Nothing new really to see on the forum.

I make fun of furries.

100000 people ask the same retarded questions or post the same lame ideas that are posted in the pre-release forums of every single MMO since EQ.

You are better off just going to www.silkyvenom.com , clicking Dev tracker and only reading those posts.

As I said before, if you don't attack me and behave yourself with other members, I have no problem with you.

Trust can be built, and a beta guil is diffferent than a copr we may still be playing as a group years from now.

HelloKitty
13-08-2006, 00:44:09
Besides, I post on the VG forums the same way I post here.

i.e. we are probably on the super secret never invite, contact dateline NBC and the FBI, no beta list.

HelloKitty
01-09-2006, 11:51:36
Update.

Their goal is to invite a total of 20-30k people for beta 3, depending on how crowded things get.

But at 250-500 a day, we still may have weeks to wait.

Good news is, Brad said that he believes all the CGM invites will be sent out by the end of next week (meaning they will probbaly get it done the week after or two weeks after).

So if anyone else got the CgM code ( know 2 people who post here had it, and probably Asher's boy toy) it shouldn't be long.

HelloKitty
01-09-2006, 18:01:42
Yeah, magazine.

They did a promo with CGM where you get a beta spot before the game goes live (read- during the stress test last week of beta).

The people at the magazine wrote it that you jump to the front of the beta que, even saying they weren't reviewing the game because you can go download it right away, and instead gave a loose guide to the starting cities.

After a huge backlash (read- sigil legal worried about false advertizing), apparently sigil has found a way to put everyone in this beta.

Only 3 months after the magazine said "Go download it now!!!

So a few people will be getting into beta from here in the next week or 3.

They also have the North afria/arab theme continent open now as well. In a few months the Asian one will open.

There is an NDA. If you read it even stating that you are in the beta is a violation.

Don't post names, info, playing names, acceptance, etc here.

If you get in as part of the guild thing you can contact me at ACOLKitty@yahoo.com when we get in and a guild is formed, which is only done via e-mail.

Because sometime tonight when I am home and have time to look at my list and set things up you would get an e-mail from me telling you how you can discuss the game with the rest of us, and maybe even some info about settings, the world, major problems, things to avoid, etc.

That can't happen probbaly until about 7PM tonight though.

old website

back in 98 or so I joined a website called OWO, which was for Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri

some people (like Funko) were there before me, others (like HelloKitty) came after

a bit later (early 99) ACOL formed, which was all about Alpha Centauri.. HK and Funko and many of the people on this site went there, I went to Apolyton

when ACOL collapsed, Counterglow was formed.. (And while I had just visited ACOL a few times, I became an active member here)

Just register for the forums and you will be put in the random invite pool.

They are adding lots and lots of people so you have a chance. Something like 25-35k people will get in this beta phase. So you have a 1 in 6 chance of getting int eh random pool.
