Than join out Counterglow "Tipprunde"!
Bet on your favourite teams (best names, nice outfits, I feel they'll win) and become the CG footy king!

And no, this is just for fun and has nothing to do with football and so called experts. It's just for fun!

It's a very very cheesy site:

Go to http://www.kicktipp.de/counterglow/

click "Mitglied werden" (Become a member)

Enter a user name, password and an valid email account

Then click the button "Mitglied werden" at the bottom.

Then use "pers. Einstellungen" (Stettings) and switch to english or whatever.

I have to confirm your membership, so it may take a while to do your clueless stuff ...

You gotta confirm too, you'll get an email

Vincent

Oh, and experts may join too. They always lose

You have to submit (Click on submssion) your visions of the score 60 mins before the match starts (or earlier)

JM^3
08-06-2006, 18:07:45
How do you already have numbers down?

JM

Vincent

Home team is the team named in the first place, away team the second team:

Germany (home) - Costa Rica (away)

You get 4 points if you predicted the right score

You get 3 points if you predicted the right goal difference: you predicted 1:3, score of the match was 3:5 (that's +2 goals for the away team)

You get 2 points for the right tendency (win, tie, loss): You predicted 1:2, score was 0:6

You got no points when even the tendency was wrong: You said 1:2, score 2:1

Vincent
08-06-2006, 18:27:05
Tendency: You can predict 1:0 for all matches if strategy is turned off

Visibility; You can see the predictions of other members before the match starts

Tip mode: You predict the score (instead of tendency only = win/tie/loss)

JM^3
08-06-2006, 18:27:31
Ah, so points are 2, 5, or 9.

Jon Miller

Vincent
08-06-2006, 18:30:38
No, the points are 4, 3, 2 or zero.

score: 2 (home team) - 1 (away team)

JM^3 predicted: 0 -14 => zero pints (um, points)
JM^2 predicted: 4 - 0 => 2 points (tendency ok)
JM^1 predicted: 3 - 1 => 3 points (tendency and difference)
JM^0 predicted: 2 - 1 => 4 points (bingo)

Vincent
08-06-2006, 18:33:58
You won't get three points if it's a tie (3:3) and you predicted a tie (like 0:0) , because the goal difference is always 0.

You will get 4 points if you predicted exactly the right score (like 3:3)

JM^3
08-06-2006, 20:54:29
From what I have seen, the team to put down for 14 points is Jueventes

Others should hopefully come in later today. First two games are later today, not 11 days away like Vincent says...

I don't see a place to score the attractiveness of the kit.

Well, obviously I misjudged the attractiveness of the uniforms for Paraguay and Trinidad.

JM^3
10-06-2006, 21:23:33
I had a freind who taped them, and I watched first Poland and Ecuardor and then Germany and Costa Rica (Jefferson Lab is very international, and so there are a lot of soccer fans here) late yesterday. I liked the Poland and Ecuardor match better (I thought it was more exciting), but some of that might have been that I was getting tired of watching durring the Germany/Costa Rica match (the goals were good in the Costa Rica/Germany Match though). I had never watched soccer before.

Vince wins.

Being a sport, he gave me a chance to overtake him when he failed to make any selections for this round. Had I nailed two scores, and not just one, I would have been in position to nudge him by one with a perfect score on the final.

Alas, Germans are twats, and they couldn't manage to beat Italy 1-0.

Vinnie remains a better judge of kit for football than I.

Vincent
06-07-2006, 17:46:03
It was a bit of bot posting, only 1:0 or 0:1. It's really really hard to know when it's 5:3 ...

notyoueither
06-07-2006, 18:15:03
Very true. I tried to pick the 2-0's early and that's where I lost a lot of points when the score was 1-0 or it was a 1 goal game.

Vincent
06-07-2006, 21:07:25
I figured it's a good strategy to stick with 1:0, but it's a little boring

notyoueither
07-07-2006, 06:32:39
You're German. You're supposed to be boring. And then invade France. Only this time they have it coming.
