I applied for a job the other day, and I know it was a bit iffy if I could work the hours, but I found this really handy bit of paper that said I could. I talk to our depot manager this morning and he tells me I can't work past 8pm. Says fucking who?! This is what I found on the intranet:

4. HOURS OF WORK

4.1 Whenever a young worker is employed, they must:
 Have a break of at least hour when they have done 4 hours work;
 Have a daily rest break of at least 12 hours
 Have a weekly rest break of at least 48 hours (in a 7 day period)
 Not work in excess of 8 hours a day
 Not work in excess of 40 hours a week
 Not undertake night work (between the hours of 11.00 pm and 6.00 am).

and the shift hours are 2-10pm, so I don't see what the problem is. Got arsey with the bloke higgy said told him that, but he hasn't gotten back to me yet, so I'm sat here v pissed off. I wanted that fucking job.

When I was a young worker, I never got any of that. I specifically remember trying to take a break 1 time and I got a 5 minute break and yelled at.

So I cut all the tires on my bosses car.

That's why women should get paid less, because they can fuck their way to the top.

No, thats why they should get paid more, having to sleep with some right mingers in order to get a decent job, they have to live with the memory of some horrible fat, sweaty man lying on top of them pumping away for all he's worth with his tiny little member...eew

That's the price bangers pay for not having good enough skills. Office skills that is.

Are young workers allowed to work at night?

Young workers are not normally allowed to work at night between 10pm-6am or 11pm to 7am, though there are some complicated exemptions to this rule.

They may work at night on shifts which run between midnight and 4am, provided the following tests are met:

the work is necessary to maintain continuity of service or production, or to respond to a surge in demand for a service or product
an adult is not available to perform the duties
the training needs of the young worker concerned are not adversely affected
they are adequately supervised, where that is necessary for their protection
they are working in hospitals or similar establishments, or in connection with cultural, artistic, sporting or advertising activities

Young workers may also work shifts which run between 10 or 11pm to midnight, or between 4am to 6 or 7am in the sectors above, and also in; agriculture; retail trading; a hotel or catering business; restaurants and bars; a bakery; or postal or newspaper deliveries.

Young workers who are seafarers, in sea fishing or part of the armed forces are covered by different regulations. Other young workers in the transport industry are exempt from the regulations until July 2003.

That's true. But it was only an introductory offer, wasn't it? You had to pay to keep her on as your personal slave. How much does that cost? I could use a personal slave, and didn't know if the UK was still competitive with Russia and Indonesia.
