Does anyone here know anything about lymphomas?

My brother has an immune disorder and has been really ill recently, and is now being tested for lymphoma. I've been told its one of the more curable cancers, but i wondered what the scientists knew if anything?

My advisor had it, I think (in the mid 80s)

it was cured, but the treatment was harsh, and he is having complications how (due to the high ammounts of radiation used in the treatment)

Apparently:

a) almost always involves chemotherapy
b) occasionally involves radiotherapy
c) treatability depends on stage at which disease was diagnosed

my nana had non hodgekins and died from it. she had both chemotherapy and radition. they made her very very sick.
It was also not genetic.
her lymphnodes would swell all up..in her neck, armpits, groin. it was painful...it was traumatizing for me..

I believe that around 85% of people treated for Hodgkins disease make a full recovery- but I'm not a doctor.
