After the motherboard on the last one died, instead of dishing out the dough like I normally have to do, I actually got this one on warrenty. The only problem was that I forgot to send ONE FUCKING CABLE, which delayed my motherboard from getting to me.

It broke roughly after christmas-ish, and I've only just rebuilt it, after getting the components yesterday.

That's far too long to have waited, I actually had some spermcount in that time I was away from a PC for a long time :o But no more!

Basically, don't bother with Novatech, they're shite.

Maybe one day they'll do mobile PCs as shoes. Then Alsie can have her PC and wear them.

a woman can't walk on one pair of shoes - FACT!!!!!

Tizzy
23-05-2006, 10:56:57
That's true.
I do have too many shoes.
I've got summer ones and other ones, then some that were bought for special occassions or something that I never wear and should really throw out.

Nike is talking to Apple about making an iPod Nike shoe. That way, as long as you wear your Nike's, you can't forget your iPod anywhere. And--- it will only get stolen when they steal your shoes!

Straight up.

Accessories Obsession. I think.

It's how the tool/gadget compulsion gene expresses itself when not proved enough other material (tools/gadgets) to obsess on. Often seen in non-geekoid men as "Tie, Watch, and Belt" obsession. In stronger cases, includes hats. In extreme cases, can include shoes.

You'd just buy more that you'd never find the right circumstances/occasions to wear.

You can never have too many pairs of shoes. And you never know when you might need to wear that pair you haven't in ages because it goes really well with this new outfit, and the shoes you wanted to wear break/get lost/something or other.

Don't let the side down.

Why don't you just stick with one type of outfit, then you won't be needing a lot of shoes.

You could change outfit every time your shoes are worn out and you need to buy new ones.

The current size of the Western Hemisphere's beef industry is dependent on the female appetite for footwear - FACT.

Well, maybe not.

hmm so it's not actually an ipod built into your shoes, just basically a pedometer that displays on your ipod.

Darkstar
24-05-2006, 21:22:08
Tiz, that's not the iPod in your shoes. That's the "iPod displaying podometre" product which is actually in production.

Nike is always looking to get more tech into its shoes. It would raise the price, and keep them "new and cool". They are afraid someone else will do it (several have), and it will catch on (it hasn't).

Just a couple of years ago, Nike was talking to Microsoft about making them embedded computers running Microsoft CE. They wanted to cross-market with Microsoft on its Pocket PC/Microsoft Everywhere campaign, but they couldn't work out a real product.

Nike are perpetually talking to the DoD about doing "smart shoes" for non-combat positions. Everything from embedding micro-wireless nodes that are powered by walking and body (foot) heat to creating an unbreakable one-time use encryption based on the number of people walking around in the puzzle palace (pentagon).

Nike is very scared of the smart textiles (wearable computers) predicted movement that is always just over the 2 - 3 year horizon. If people suddenly start going with smart clothes, Nike will get screwed as the smart clothes lines will provide their own branded shoes to provide additional power (via stepping), wi-fi, blue tooth, storage, and personal node all in one. And if that was to get popular, then those smart clothes vendors could then down-market to those that want to look cool with their brand of idiot shoes.
