Amazon is pretty good at recommending you stuff based on what you've bought in the past, here are my current list of recommendations:

Opiate ~ Tool
Grievous Acoustic Behaviour ~ Ginger
Your New Favourite Band ~ Hives
Jimmy Eat World ~ Jimmy Eat World
Anarchic Airwaves+Bonus CD ~ The Wildhearts
Hi-Fi Serious ~ A
I'm a Lover Not a Fighter [SINGLE] ~ Ginger
United By Fate ~ Rival Schools
Salival ~ Tool
Is This It ~ Strokes
Start With a Strong and Persistent Desire ~ Vex Red
Welcome to Sky Valley ~ Kyuss
Evil Empire ~ Rage Against The Machine
Generator ~ Bad Religion
Black Leather Mojo [IMPORT] ~ Silver Ginger 5

I'd like, or already own, all of those other than The Strokes. Not bad.

5. Holes in the Wall ~ Electric Soft Parade
6. See This Through And Leave [LIMITED EDITION] ~ Cooper Temple Clause
7. Rock N Roll ~ The New York Dolls
8. Loss ~ Mull Historical Society
9. Lamf ~ Johnny Thunders & The Heartbreakers
10. The Modern Dance ~ Pere Ubu

Ooh. Lesse. I essentially own everything on #7 and #9. I've considered buying #2, #3, #12 and #14. I've never even heard of #4. #8 is the only definate no-no on this one.

I think I'll go though the list and re-rate stuff, to see what it comes up with.

Interesting a prog rock album like Cooper Temple Clause would show up.

I suppose. They're a bit "Kindergarten Primal Screamish", though, I suppose.

10. The Modern Dance ~ Pere Ubu That's cool. I got the "Data Panik" and the "Monster" compilation of David Thomas/Pere Ubu. That's pretty tough stuff, but unique!
The best CD of Thomas is Erewhon. One of my top 10 albums. When I heard it the first I was totally confused. Very intense

I can't wait for my Black Label Society CD to arrive. I'll do a review.

One thing I've noticed is that it puts stuff you've bought but not rated really highly. So it recommends Pere Ubu to me because I just bought the new Rocket from the Tombs CD.

Yep, whenever you buy a CD it normally updates your recommendations with other popular stuff by that artist. Me buying 2 Wildhearts CDs and Silver Ginger 5 means that my list is dominated by Wildhearts and Ginger stuff and buying 3 Tool CDs puts all the others on there for me too.

Vex Red played at the Guildford Big Day In, but I couldn't drag anyone else along, so I missed them. That music site that I recommended to you, Mike, has them splashed all over it.

Vex Red played here recently too. Interesting mix of reviews. I'm not sure I'm that keen on them from what I've heard really.

Had to go through and update mine. I tend to buy a fair number of gifts through there and some of the recommendations were frightning.

I'm too embarassed to post my list. What the hell are they thinking recommending a Celine Dion album to me? :o

It keeps recommending Stereophonics for me. The bastard.

Well, I looked at it again and it was recommending me Robbie Williams. So I gave up.

I think you should sue for that Mike ;)

It makes sense when you see why they recommended it. What's wrong is their connection that if you buy any rock record you'd automatically be interested in all big selling rock records. At least it wasn't Celine Dion. :D

I got some really bad recommendations before I'd ordered very much. They get better the more you have ordered and the more time you spend rating the recommendations.

Which reminds me, there is a CD I want to order...
