damn summer is a coming. Time to get the fans out and start opening the windows.

okay it's only spring like weather, but it's a little warm with no air circulation and all my windows closed. And my 350 watt speaker system adding heat to my room doesn't help.

don't talk about exercise

JM^3
04-04-2006, 20:13:59
I am pretty sure that if I didn't exercise for a few months, I would die...

after like a month of light activity (this does include walking, and taking the stairs instead of the elevator), my BF% goes up by 4% (to like 28%), I start getting tired more, I can hadly job (going from ~3 miles to ~1 mile, and much slower), etc...

my body does not keep muscle

Don't worry, nobody elses does either. Everyone else is just in real bad shape.

nah, I swear that lots of people I know seem to just hang arround the shape that I get in only after working fairly hard at it for a month or so... and they don't work at all (I mean being able to run, being able to jog a few miles, being able to lift over 100 lbs, etc)

I would even go so far to say everyone else I know

28% is pretty huge...

I was surprised at how high it was...

I am trying to decide if I shuold shoot for 3 miles to day, or go for faster (I am jogging where there are ups and downs, so it is a bit harder than flat)

I just hate guys who never lifted a weight in their life who have these huge forearms and such. I'm so jealous. I try to life regularly, but really can't achieve shit. Maybe I should take steroids. But it's just not that important to me.

It would get out of view in a few minutes.

Also, I don't eat ice cream, I eat fairly well acutally...

I no longer eat out at restaurants, I rarely eat sweets or snackfood... (although I ate a bit more snackfood right now with the 2 am - 6 am shifts)

I estimate that I get somewhere about 2000 Cal a day...

Thats the trouble with exercise JM. Once you start, you have to keep doing it. Increasingly so if you have a sit-down job where you don't burn calories. Then comes the almighty slowing down of the metabolism. Buy yourself some 40" trousers now to save panic buying later.

I will be daed before I ever reach that size...

as I said, after a month or so of lack of exercise my Body Fat percentage increases by 4% and I get to the point where I can hardly jog/exercise...

then I start feeling bad, get really tired and can't do much, etc...

also, if I don't exercise 2+ times a week my cholestral shoots through the roof (despite the fact that I don't eat meat, don't eat much foods with cholesteral at all...)

I think my metabolism is already dead

when I look at how many calories I should be buring (using a lot of different calculations)

and how many I am actually intaking....

I should be losing weight, but I am not

Sounds like you should generally keep exercising anyway. It sounds like you eat healthily enough though. Perhaps you just have a slow metabolism.
Do you tend to eat the same thing every day or change your diet regularly?

I just ate some snack food, so today isn't any good (a little bit of snack food is an easy ~1000 calories)

things I eat:

large meals (1 a day):
1. two sandwiches with cheese, veggie meat, and spinach
2. large plate of ravioli with spaggethi sauce and cheese and garlic
3. two burittoes (beans, spinach, cheese, sour cream, salsa)

small meals (generally 1 a day):
smoothy (made with 2 bananas and 16 Oz of yogurt)
cold cereal (ones like total or honey bunchs of oats)
oatmeal (sometimes with honey)
bread + peanutbutter+ jelly
frozen waffles + peanut butter + syrup or applesauce
some veggie meat

I also generally get something extra, a bottle of juice, or some crackes or some cookies or something

I use to be able to eat tons, and never go above a pudgy 180, but for the last few years I have watched what I ate, and have had a hard time going below 200 (but I did eat out far too often before this semester)

by eating tons, I mean literal (3 large meals a day, doing things like eating 7 sandwiches regularly, etc)

JM

I used to be able to eat just about any amout fo food you put in front of me to.
It sounds to me like you REALLY NEED to go for a run or something every day. What about running to work or is it fooking miles away?, or even a half hour jog on your lunch break.

I really should do the same cos I'm just skimming the edge of 15 stone. Dunno what that is in lb. Not doin the running thing though, just cycling. As it's about 5 miles from home to work, I think thats enough at 3 times a week to start with.

"Prisoners Of (Her/His) Majesty". It's a pleasantly ambiguous etymology of the term which has the unfortunate trait of having no basis in truth.

Apart from the fact that that origin is about as proveable as any other...;)

http://www.abc.net.au/classic/break...es/s1019162.htm

The legend is that pommy comes from the letters P.O.M.E standing for "Prisoner of Mother England" - in other words, a convict. Unfortunately for believers in the legend, the word pommy entered the language too long after convict transportation ended for this to be true.

The most likely explanation is that it started as a form of rhyming slang to describe new immigrants from England. An elderly letter writer to The Sydney Morning Herald in 1983 recalled school children, before the First World War, chanting: "immigranate, pomegranate" at new arrivals. From this sort of "immigrant/pommegrant" rhyming slang the word pommy was
first formed. There may also have been a suggestion that the pink cheeks of the new arrivals resembled the pomegranate fruit. But that is where it comes from. Probably. With such oral folk lore we can never be 100% certain of anything!

Or Aussies are dumb fucks who are too stupid to know how to rhyme properly because they were all descended from illiterate convicts in the first place...:p
