View Full Version : Appartment plans

So I am thinking it would be nice to have something in my appartment besides my papers and crap all over the floor

right now I have (in the living room):
stacks of papers (old class stuff, bank stuff, and pure trash that I can't bear to part with)
picture albums (and just loose pictures)
real trash (all in a pile, ready for me to remove)
stacks of books
a broken bookshelf
two nonbroken bookshelves full of books
dirty clothes
clean clothes that haven't been put away yet (from my move)
odds and ends from my room (before the move) that haven't found a place to live yet
small, terrible looking, set of plastic drawers with odds and ends in them

(in the second bedroom):
two hampers filled with dirty clothes
an electric piano
my paintball gun
my playstation
my (old, very very old) laptop
my scanner

(in my bedroom):
all my music CDs in a pile
old computer sitting on the floor (with monitor on floor)
new computer on floor (monitor sitting on short shelf with keyboard on tray table)
most computer games in pile
pile of PSP games and PSP
TV on another shelf, with videos, PS2, and PS2 games on shelf
dirty clothes
Drawer full of clothes (clean)

now obviously I need to decorate, but I don't know what to do first (and I only do well biting off a small bite at a time), so what do I need to do/get? (and I know that I need to pick up the clothes)

get a good insurance then burn the place.

hmm, I don't think it is that bad

I like the stuff I have (which is mostly books, video games, and technology/computer stuff)

crap on the floor??

did you invite Kitsuki for a drink?

Going for a drink before we're thirty - bit unrealistic?

I thought it was at Maaiks

I can categorically promise I have never taken a dump on Mike's floor...

so i'm wrong!!!
what's new, i thought you :vom: at Maaiks and i thought that was funny.

Girly POV- Get rid of trash, tidy papers, put old computer stuff in garage if you have one,if not then spare room, weed out the stuff you can get rid of.
Send clean clothes to ironing company/lady if you can't stand ironing and yes, wash the dirty ones. :)
Pick a room, decide what colour you would like it to be,(think about type of furniture you might need i.e sofa, small dinner table and chairs, shelves or new bookcases, blind or curtains etc- if thats what you need),and take the colours into account , pile the stuff you have left in the middle and cover it with a tarp and you are ready to paint- i would decorate first as it is easier with little or no furniture in the room.
Once finished start on the next room until you are done.
In the meantime as you are decorating place orders for the furniture so you are not left with a newly decc'd house and no furniture.
Hope this helps and is not too basic in advice:coolgrin:

Get that MTV dude to redo your room, like a canteen, a bingo hall, or a lockerroom.

Blue Rinse Brigade
Definition: Group of old ladies who have this inexplicable habit of using a blue or purple rinse in their grey hair. Often found in bingo halls.

Thanks. :D

If it doesn't exist in english we'll doppelganger it.

30-03-2006, 15:53:20
well, the bathroom and kitchen I have setup fairly decently... if for utility (I have what is neccesary..)

I don't think I can paint the place

30-03-2006, 22:06:41
What room do you spend all your time in? You can either start there, or end there. If you start there, you probably won't get around to doing the other rooms until you get a SO or a roomie.

30-03-2006, 22:11:06
what about a couch?

31-03-2006, 07:42:09
yeah, that is one of the things I think I could use

31-03-2006, 08:02:29

depends on what you want. if you want antique, go to an antique store. If you want new, there are always big name furniture stores ..
Office Depot, Best Buy..think they sell them.
Walmart..for cheapness
Pier 1 for fancy exotic stuff made by poor chinese sweat shop children ;)

03-04-2006, 07:19:01
hmm, I think all of those places are nearby

03-04-2006, 07:25:14
have you thought about what style desk?

03-04-2006, 07:27:10
hmm, I had a giant one before

I want a more managable one now

one complication is my CRT is 21 inch or something like that (maybe 23)

03-04-2006, 07:27:36
oh, I guess I want a computer desk

I don't really like super modern looks though

03-04-2006, 07:54:48
looking a bit, it seems as if metal and glass is the way to go for cheap (if you don't want fake crap)

03-04-2006, 16:41:08
why don't you try an armour (sp?) style computer station? wooden or something. I've got one of those
