View Full Version : I lost 500,000 of business today

One absolutely immovable deadline to get the transfer across by, and the dozy bint handling the administration decides to do her own thing.

Result? The transfer goes across in the wrong name, gets bounced, and the deadline is missed. Bye-bye 500,000 of business.

The execs are going to be soooooooooo pissed off. I spent all afternoon covering mey back and stitching up absolutely everyone I could.

Good move. Deny everything, spread smoke, sow fear uncertainty and doubt. If all else fails claim your execs are discriminating against you

pour some beer on their exec chairs and claim they've been drunk at work

A case of "showing intiative" that is not accompanied by the required competence?

Sorry to hear about your troubles, Laz. Good move on the CYA. Good luck on making sure that black mark doesn't land on you.

Maybe it is a Mr. G word? He does seem to have taken command over the whole forum's jargon.

I figured it was supposed to be "slept". Whether that meant slept around, or just fell asleep I don't know.

Hopefully the weekend gap will cool the execs heels giving them time to realise the nutty tart in admin was the prob in the 1st place...... giving them time to find her a P45

Actually it's nothing so crass. It's a slightly vulgar expression for "woman" that's directly lifted from Arabic.

It's like "tart", but without the derogatory sexual connotations.

Well, according to the all knowledgable Google, it means "daughter of" in Arabic. That's vulgar?

It has acquired vulgarity in translation.

Arabic, adapted as derogatory term.

I wish someone would trust me with 500 grands worth of contract.

I just nitpick over these pissy little things that mean nothing, make not a jot of difference and get forgotten within minutes.

You LUCKY, LUCKY, BASTARD! ;)

I lose my job at about the 150k mark.
I'm up to 90k and have to make it without further losses (theft, procedural, etc.) until September. I inherited half of that in my first day and @70% is out of my immediate control.
I've fired 3 people in three months and am working on one or two right now as well.

Dozy bint had a meeting with management in which she had fully explained to her the importance of following instructions, and her solemn undertaking to ensure she exercises greater care in future was documented on her personnel file.

My suggestion of staking her over an ant-hill was not adopted. I just got shouted at by a few customers, which is no big deal.
