So if you can talk on a cell phone while driving you think it's an even better idea to text while driving?

16-03-2006, 13:17:27

In today's society thoughts like that make you an evil racist bigot. Not sure how, but they do.

I trust that wasn't a deliberate pun. Hmm, what a thing, to walk along rail tracks, let alone texting at the same time, even if you can hear !

He told the Austin American Statesman that many deaf people who think they can detect approaching trains by their vibrations are mistaken.

Not a day that goes by that I dont ponder the pitfalls of blind people wandering along railway tracks......

The American Deaf Society and several other Deaf community/activist groups are trying to get the Cochlear Implants outlawed. That's those devices they can stick into people's heads that let them hear. Why do the want the things outlawed? Because all the parents of deaf kids are getting them for their kids. In a generation, there won't be enough deaf people in the modern world for their culture to survive.

Straight up.

Of course, the implants don't work for all kinds of deafness, so there will still be deaf people. Just highly reduced in proportion to the hearing public.

And many deaf people can indeed sense a train coming. But its not always reliable. And if they are distracted...

Yeah, you just have to argue if the deafness outweighs the hotness.

Can't really factor in texting in out of place situations. That's just women for you.

It wasn't the fact she was texting.. She wasn't even on the line....
The, so called, cow catcher on this train sticks out 18 inches past the sides.... So even walking alongside the track was lethal...

Well, good thing she is hot or it'd be even easier to make jokes about the subject.

I have walked along train tracks often

the world is just not that safe of place for the deaf
