Can't believe out of all the bullshit quizes we've done, we haven't doen this one....

You scored as atheism.

You are... an atheist, though you probably already knew this. Also, you probably have several people praying daily for your soul. Instead of simply being "nonreligious," atheists strongly believe in the lack of existence of a higher being, or God.

You are an agnostic. Though it is generally taken that agnostics neither believe nor disbelieve in God, it is possible to be a theist or atheist in addition to an agnostic. Agnostics don't believe it is possible to prove the existence of God (nor lack thereof). Agnosticism is a philosophy that God's existence cannot be proven. Some say it is possible to be agnostic and follow a religion; however, one cannot be a devout believer if he or she does not truly believe.

Christianity is the second of the Abrahamic faiths; it follows Judaism and is followed by Islam. It differs in its belief of Jesus, as not a prophet nor historical figure, but as God in human form. The Holy Trinity is the concept that God takes three forms: the Father, the Son (Jesus), and the Holy Ghost (sometimes called Holy Spirit). Jesus taught the idea of instead of seeking revenge, one should love his or her neighbors and enemies. Interesting.

I believe in the existence of a God, but not in the little details of his existence the different religions put forward as fact. I think those little detailed stories each religion has have value, and can teach us to be better people, even though they may not be based in fact. Not sure how it decided I was agnostic.

It was a tie break thing, though.

Max scores are for Americans. I know because every time we in the department don't score all 5s in a survey they ask what's wrong, and we're subjected to a load of crap analysis. (We're told it's an American thing to not accept less than all max scores.) Just seems to me false enthusiasm, implying nothing could be better. Just there to allow those in authority to claim the they've achieved perfection.

LoD

Gary
10-03-2006, 13:48:09
Precisely. It's the basic fact that nothing can ever be perfect so nothing can ever honestly get maximum.

Related to workplace surveys, to give an unjustified max score just allows those responsible for the present conditions to claim everything is wonderful, when if isn't.

One can be honest and face a tedious analysis session each time about why it isn't max. Especially irksome when it is twisted into "what can you do to make it better", when the real question should be "what can they do better". Or one can be dishonest, give a max score, and have folk claim all is perfection.

What was wrong with the old fashioned suggestion box ? It worked well and didn't irritate the staff.

yeah, honesty on surveys and in feedback sessions with management could get you put on "workgroups" to address "problems"

Usually these problems are the result of one person's loud complaint - usually not the real source of angst - that makes more work for everyone.

they've even acknowledged this happens and changed workgroup missions to "problems or perceived problems"

thankfully, it doesn't happen often, if it became the norm, I'd scream

You scored as Islam.

Your beliefs are most similar to those of Islam. Do more research on Islam and possibly consider taking the shahadah and officially becoming a Muslim, if you aren't already. Despite the actions of some - who go against the teachings of Islam - Islam is a religion of peace; the word "islam" means "peace through submission to God." "Muslim" means "one who submits to God." Islam is the third of the three Abrahamic faiths, and it shares much with Judaism in Christianity; its differences are the acceptance of Muhammad as the last and final prophet, and the oneness of God - in other words, that Jesus, though he was a revered prophet, was not in fact God, and only one God exists. Apparently the Taliban could not read (though their name means "students"), because the Qur'an states that men and women are equal as believers, and that all believers should be educated and seek knowledge. Modesty in dress and behavior is required in Islam for both men and women to preserve the values of society and move the emphasis from superificial appearance to intelligence, knowledge, and God.

That's about what I'd expect. I would have placed Christianity a little higher than that, but clearly their understanding of religious beliefs is quite different from mine. Their description of Islam seems pretty accurate, except the stuff about Muhammad being the last Prophet.

I gave the test a 1 rating though, it really was crap.
