hello, long time no post.

we have an EP out in a month cleverly titled "The Red EP" (named because of Debaser's excellent graphic design job). please at least look at it in the shops (if you see it) and say "hey, I vaguely know the drummer from his online flaming, he's really dim-witted, pig-headed, annoying and opinionated but look, the cover really is pretty".

also, we have lots of dates coming up. we'd love to see you there. here are the few that are currently confirmed:

9th Mar - The After Dark, Reading. EP Launch.
25th Mar - Rescue Rooms, Nottingham. Stealth Clubnight.
31st Mar - Upstairs@RISC, Reading. w/SixNationState.
1st Apr - The Tube Club, Archway Tavern. London.
8th Apr - Lennons, Southampton. LLRR Club Night. w/SixNationState.
12th Apr - Sumo, Brighton.

Is 'itsasecret...sssh' an actual venue? :p

That's a hell of a lot of gigs!

Debaser
09-03-2006, 12:05:39
There are as many gigs on that list as the Palestinians played in total.

Funko
09-03-2006, 12:10:49
I didn't realise you'd done that many! :D (it's more than Müf did)

Last night's gig was awesome.

- FACT

I'm doing a review now.

Debaser
10-03-2006, 11:53:41
Rebus were awesome, but I thought Elle Milano were a little bit dissapointing. They seemed to be having a rubbish time until their drum and bass oddessy at the end. And they only played about 3 songs I knew.

Funko
10-03-2006, 11:55:06
I thought they were really, really good. Miles better than last time I saw them at Club V, but that was a long time ago.

Debaser
10-03-2006, 11:58:23
Nah, both times at club V and the time at SugarRush they were better. Who cares if they were tighter last night, they should play really kind of angry, and last night they just seemed a bit bored.

Funko
10-03-2006, 12:06:18
Actually being able to see them was a massive help, and the sound was so much better, I could actually hear what the songs were about. The RSAC gigs they played quite well but you couldn't actually hear what they were trying to do. I'm all for edgy and punky but I liked it a lot better being able to actually hear everything.

King_Ghidra

hear everything? are you crazy, do you think this is about the music or something?!

Funko

Sorry. :o

I've seen (and played with (OOOHHH!!!)) Elle Milano, but who the hell is THIS guy?!?!

Is that the singer?!

Funko

No, he's a guitarist/backing vocals.

Gramercy Riffs
10-03-2006, 16:57:59
Has he always been with them?

I thought it was guy/girl/guy (drummer)

Funko
10-03-2006, 17:00:09
I thought there were always four of them but I've never actually seen them play... just the backs of peoples heads.

Funko
10-03-2006, 17:01:29
but the other three are guy/girl/guy (drums)

Gramercy Riffs
10-03-2006, 17:02:13
I thought they were a trio.

Anyway, he could have made an effort, he looks like a tramp

novacane
10-03-2006, 17:04:56
Yeah, I've always been aware of 4. Can't say I recognise that guy but having only "seen" them at RASC, thats hardly surprising.

Gramercy Riffs
10-03-2006, 17:14:53
hmmm, well either way, a great band.

Funko
10-03-2006, 17:15:35
And they were really great yesterday (although Debaser disagrees)

Debaser
10-03-2006, 17:22:18
There were 3 of them, but now there are four. They were 3 the first time they played Club V, and 4 when they played with us.

I don't think they were bad last night, just a bit tame and bored. They're best when they seem a bit angry & shouty.

novacane
13-03-2006, 11:03:56
Lets not overuse "great"

King_Ghidra
13-03-2006, 11:23:02
why, are you hankering for some competely retarded debate about appropriateness of the use of the word great

even i'm not that bored at work

btw, scored a couple of great goals in my 5 a side game last week

novacane
13-03-2006, 12:03:38
You've got the wrong guy. I don't want to debate anything. I just think "great" is a wild term for Elle Milano. But, I also recognise that it was probably used in a figure of speech kind of way, more than anything else.

If I was to browse through a few threads, I'm sure I'd find that you've initiated and fuelled a good number of retarded debates based on equally and more inane subjects than this. So hold your tongue.

Nills Lagerbaak

great post

Funko
13-03-2006, 14:04:58
I'd say that on Thursday they were well up there on the scale of 'most entertaining/enjoyable' gigs. High enough for me to say they entered the category where I'd describe the gig as great.

I wouldn't have called either of their RSAC shows great, or what I've heard recorded. Although I did like them at RSAC and their recorded stuff.

But obviously it's subjective, Debaser has a different view.

King_Ghidra
13-03-2006, 14:23:05
i thought they were great the first time i saw them, and slightly worse each of the two subsequent times i saw them

but i think that's mainly because i haven't liked any of their newer songs as much as the older two or three that i heard first and really liked

you're on your own funko, novacane doesn't want to debate anything, apparently

Can someone be bothered to register Debater and set them up with Debaser's profile?

Please God help me! No one wants to debate the correct / incorrect useage of the word "great".

Funko

I think it would be a great discussion.

King_Ghidra
13-03-2006, 14:56:01
you don't think it would grate after a while?

Gramercy Riffs
13-03-2006, 17:05:59
I'd have no expectations for it myself.
