Own Goal

Japher just sold his old house. He's been living in his new house for a while, IIRC, so still paying the mortgage on the old one and the mortgage on the new one was probably killing him.

Since he moved from SoCal to somewhere else it's also possible that his total debt will now be lower than it was before, since housing prices will not be as insane in his new place.

depending on the house market period, many friends here think instead it's a very clever move to owe two houses

they meant you should buy a 2nd house with the purpose to rent it, even if the rent you get doesn't fully cover the 2nd mortage you pay on it.... they think it's the best form of investment today...

OTOH IIRC the opening titles quote from 1984 Rohmer's movie "Full Moon in Paris" said "who has two women wastes his life, who has two houses loses his mind" or something

Gary lives in the same part of town that I do. I think his wife works in the housing development I bought in.

I had an interest only loan with a high interest and it was killing me. I got away with enough to pay off the debt I incurred by moving and to pay of a good amount of my loans on the current place. My montly payments have been reduced a lot by this sale.

Tuesday was a good day this week. I also learned that my parents place, which flooded at the first of the year, has begun it's renovation and that the city will most likely be picking up the bill.

Also, I got my confirmation for the GMAT course I am taking, and that I shouldn't have a problem finding a good school to go to.

On top of it, the cream I found to help my daughter with her Eczema actually worked.

Grats, that must have been a tough haul.

I remember when my parents had two mortgages.

3 years of food with yellow and black labels, supplemented by as much deer/rabbit/squirrel my dad could shoot.

most of that generic label food is edible (it didn't often "look" good, but tasted ok), but some of it was awful all-around.

They're retired and on vacation in Australia now, so I think its all good.

MoSe

yellow and black? generic label?
we haven't anything of the kind
