Yeah, but it was done on teens. And you've seen the Top 10 nowadays, mainly perpetuated by that very age group...

I don't think any of us are above such social factors.

And the chart has always been bought mainly by teens.

There was not much "teen" music in the UK charts from 52-56. It was all Vera Lynn and Frankie Laine and sophisticated pop orchestras. You get the first teen idols, skiffle groups and Rock'n'Roll in 1954-55, but it's not until the second half of 1956 that they actually take over as the leading sales force.
