View Full Version : Little Progress, Print Server Help Needed

OK, just spent an evening not getting very far with the Belkin Print Server. Initially even though the LEDs on the front all lit up correctly, the software insisted a print server could not be found. Even when I plugged in the cable thus disabling the wireless part (it's stayed plugged in since) there was still problems.

Then I got my only progress of the evening. It's a second hand beast and I read in the manual that keeping the reset button in for 10 seconds while it powered up would reset to factory settings. Did so, it came in and seemed to be found ok. So all's well ? Nope.

The printer is now supposedly always off line. It was fine when just plugged into the back of the PC (and yes, the Canon i550 is on the list of compatible printers) but now, via the print server, it's always off line apparently.

I think I may have to e-mail Belkin support, but before I reach that depth, does anyone have any experience in this area ? Does anyone have any useful suggestions on what might need to be set and isn't ? Either in the F1UP0001, or the F5D7632uk4, or the PC.

Pray to the magical gods of the print server.

I don't know shit about them.

They're a little rare I think. I don't think I've ever seen one in person.

Most people don't use print servers, because if they did, they would end up posting threads like this on messageboards.
