The Reading Festival? I'd be very up for that (may already be going with a friend, but could come and meet up with you gay twats too...)

Funko
31-01-2006, 10:23:14
The Fringe Festival? That's late August. I was thinking a bit earlier but that's definitely doable.

Kitsuki
31-01-2006, 10:24:49
Hehe, should be one before then too... :)

mr_G
31-01-2006, 10:24:57
I will bring a book

Funko

The Fringe Festival is the one I'm helping organise and that's the week before Reading Festival. At a minimum it means there'll be cool stuff do go and do every night that week.

We need a change of venue. How about Manchester?!

mr_G
31-01-2006, 10:37:10
Manchester is that in Reading?

Nills Lagerbaak
31-01-2006, 10:39:29
Yeah, a change of venue is always good...

Funko
31-01-2006, 10:39:52
I was mainly talking about a London meet here.

If you want to do an international meet in Reading that's cool...

And we were going to go to Milan and make MoSe move into his flat.

Nills Lagerbaak
31-01-2006, 10:41:55
Funko, are you around this weekend? I am coming to the big smoke!

Funko
31-01-2006, 10:43:01
Maybe... I'll e-mail you.

mr_G
31-01-2006, 10:51:46
Milan is great, i will definatley go to the supermarket and buy some ordinary cheese and ham there.

I have decided that being that flat landlord my dad's 2nd wife, despite the decent relationships, and the possible advantages that renting a family property brings, the downside outweighs them.
Mainly:
I think the bonds and restraint that will bring, overlapping with family ones, will be unbearable.
That is:
If I want sometimes to eventually say fuck off to my father, I wanna be free to do it, without being afraid that this could make the situation difficult with my "landlord".

Considering that I don't foresee my financial resources will increase in the short future, and that in less than 2 years I'll be 45, it's time NOW to begin investing money in a mortage of a flat I buy, instead of wasting it in a rent.

So I've begun investigating.
Of course I can't afford more than a rotten shack with my scarce resources. A single-room flat with bathoom, and probably not even a separate kitchen but just a cooking corner.
That's definitely worse than the 2 rooms and kitchen of my stepmom's one, but I won't have to abide by no one else's will.

The prospect downgrade in living conditions is grim, but sobering, in the sense that if that's all I managed to earn and deserve with decades of unambitious and aimless life, I'll have to own up and live with it.

[/ R/L boring mode]

that's to say that I will not have the resources to host any of you for a meeting in Milan, like mr.G so splendidly did in Rotterdam.
And I can't either commit now myself in just organising a meeting's activities, I myself barely have a life here, I wouldn't know where to bring you and what to show you, leave alone knowing in wich conditions I'll be this fall.

Summary:
IF things will turn out for the better, I might think to host a meeting in Milan in 2007, not earlier.
Otherwise, never.

Funko
31-01-2006, 11:29:33
I was only joking about your flat. Sorry. :)

Milan has hotels. It also has some pretty reasonably priced self catering flats that we could hire if we wanted that rather than a hotel. And there are plenty of ways to find out stuff to do in a city that doesn't require a local guide. :D

So if we want to come, you can't stop us! :D

But seriously, if next year is better we could do it then instead.

Can't we have a Copenhagen meet now that Spartak is a scandie? Got a conference in Lund in early march...

I know you're very resourceful, but how comes you're so well informed on such details?

Well, I am in the USA next week and will certainly be in
Hong Kong the first week in April, Oz the 2nd week in April and Oz again later in February or early March. Other than that, I am free apart from the USA in June, Latvia in May and Kazakhstan in August.

Not in New York end of March then? :D

Yeah, but why would Nikhil ask if you were around in London this weekend? You see my confusion...

Nills Lagerbaak
01-02-2006, 10:07:49
100-0 still.

It's not that confusing, I will be in London this weekend. Mikes default state would be to be in Reading, surely!

Debaser
01-02-2006, 10:14:26
Yeah, I thought you meant "are you around" as in "are you going out"... Nevermind, forget I spoke...

Nills Lagerbaak
01-02-2006, 10:20:51
:p I know what you meant, I'm being a facitiuous bastard, but that's what the 100-0 game is all about!!

Nills Lagerbaak

Yes, let it not trouble you too much, you may be 100-0 down, but there's everything to play for.

Funko
01-02-2006, 10:47:36
It's MG's birthday this weekend, we both knew that, Nills was just asking if I was going.

Made sense to us but I can see why it might be confusing for Debaser...

Nav
01-02-2006, 11:25:13
Tizzy (as no-one else is paying attention!): Sat Feb 25th?

Tizzy
01-02-2006, 11:25:57
Only if we can watch the rugby :D

Spartak@CPH
01-02-2006, 11:26:12
Why would it be confusing to Debaser? He has been around long enough to follow it.

Funko
01-02-2006, 11:26:12

Ways to clean up blood and not leave residue. Or avoiding and cleaning powder residue from your face and hands after firing a weapon.

Or how to leave fake evidence behind to throw them off the trail, such as using used cigarette butts from the street or trashcans to point the finger at someone else.
