Anyone playing? My brother just sent me COV for x-mas witha 3 month sub card so I can play both again.

23-12-2005, 19:16:19
Oh, and I know Venom wanted to try it out, I have a 14 day "friend pass" free trial you can have if you want.

23-12-2005, 19:17:23
What to try....this or EVE.....

23-12-2005, 21:09:23
Well the christmas events are entertaining. I just ruined christmas for orphans. Snuck on atoys for tots ship, and bysnuck I mean beat the shit out of the crew, and destroyed the presents.

And venom, in one game you are a space ship, in the other you can be a 600 pound man in a silly outfit beating hot girls in tights to death.

23-12-2005, 21:35:55
I am playing

I am on Freedom

what do you have against me?

23-12-2005, 23:17:05
What do you have against hot girls in tights?

Oh, and are you COH or COV on freedom?

23-12-2005, 23:19:40
Guardian is where my higher levels are for COH btw.

Venom, do you want to try it out? Its free but you have to download it.

23-12-2005, 23:55:18
I am on both COH and COV on freedom

I also have (both) characters on victory

24-12-2005, 00:19:35
Must admit, this game sounds a lot of fun.

24-12-2005, 02:59:37
I'd like to try out being a villian.

24-12-2005, 07:51:26
I will PM you the buddy pass info. I will start a criminal on Freedom. Super Drekkus may make a return. Although I have lots of other tasteless ideas for heroes/villains.

And Matt, the game is lots of fun, but you CANNOT play it hardcore like EQ etc. The game is awesome at what it is designed to do, log on, be beating the shit out of someone in 5 minutes, some pvp, etc. If you try to play it as a grind fest you will burn out reall fast.

Another awesome thing is that if we play we don't ahve to worry about anyone getting too far behind in levels. You can raise a low persons level up to yours while grouped or drop yours down, so people can always play with friends.

24-12-2005, 10:51:18
I've not got the time to be a hardcore gamer anymore. I played WoW for over 6 months and only got to level 35. That's why, to me, CoV sounds like the perfect game.

24-12-2005, 11:14:06
Well load it up, or ask venom if you two can share the trial. Only one of you gets the characters if you buy the game though.

Johsna Mizazler. What do you play? If a few people will be playing may as well try to make sure we have the basic bases covered.

I made 3 toons tonight to play around with.

1- Super Drekkus- A plant/spine dominator who looks like Bob Ross. Entered into the tutorial and I was so cool 3 people gathered around me. One even said "You are fucking retarded".

I told her to shove a happy little tree up her ass.

2- The Loyal Vet- A tasteless joke about vets who lost all their limbs. He is a mastermind with robotic arms, a robotic leg, all in camo, and a peg leg. Summon mercenaries primary (with assault rifle) and force field secondary.

3- V D - A skank in fishnet stockings and little else, massive boobs. Chose the "rot" face that looks like oral herpes. Is a corruptor, fire primary, radiation emmission secondary.

I think I would prefer to play VD or The Vet.

24-12-2005, 16:28:37
On Feedom, Villain is Yellow Tail (Geisha Slut Villainess) (a Ninja Mastermind)

on Freedom, Heroes are Namon Targon (Archer Defender) and an Ice Blaster (don't remember the name)

on Victory I have a Villain (Taizu) who is a ninja

on Victory I have a Gravity controller (Dr. Gravitino)

26-12-2005, 08:36:00
What are your secondaries? Since COV has no healer classes the secondary powers are much more important.

If we get a X/force field mastermind and corruptor with even a weak AE heal (rad, kin, dark) we would be set. Unless someone likes playing healer types and goes for a thermal concentration with healing power pools. But I find those dull.

26-12-2005, 08:36:57
Oh, and I do have to say I like the enhancemnt changes they put in a few months ago.

26-12-2005, 12:24:49
No one worry about /FF. I played my MM tonight and liked it more than my corruptor, who is too much like my old COH characters.

Do we have a Force Fielder.

26-12-2005, 13:02:58
my villainess secondary is poison

26-12-2005, 15:48:11
Poison has a single target heal and some other heal like abilities right?

I will be on and off parts of today.

Venom got my PM yesterday, no clue if he downloaded the game yet.

But if we both play we can pretty much survive with almost anything else.

28-12-2005, 00:28:41
Well I hit 15 today. Will continue to run story line missions although I am stuck with the god damn Skulls mission. I hate fighting Dark enemies. Anyway so I delayed super leap to 16 and took insul sheild at 14. So now I have both sheilds triple slotted with DOs and both pets DO slotted.

If anyone logs on just send me a tell and I will SK you (lackey). Should be pretty good exp since I run missions at the +3/base setting.

29-12-2005, 20:06:55
I am level 10 currently (Villain, Freedom) btw

30-12-2005, 01:11:29
Did a Strike Force today. Made nearly 2 levels. The last mission is a bitch with a 5 story demon at the end. Lucky the tank had invis other combined with my PFF so I could just walk to all the alters.

The waves of demons were nasty though and that last fight took forever. The end hero was Inferno.

Did it with 1 Corr, 3 MM, 1 brute, 1 dom, and a stalker.

31-12-2005, 17:56:27
you know?

I have never done a strike force

31-12-2005, 21:37:50
Strike forces are the best way to make exp as long as you are at least a level away fromt he cap for that SF/TF. Huge numbers of enemies, a team oof players whojoined knowing they would be on for 2-4 hours, nonstop fighting, amazing money and drops.

Well the lvl 11-15 COH one is HORRIBLE since it is all Vahz and COT. So no one ever does it.

The 16-20 one is great fun. Ends with killing the clockwork king and you get to see the other giant robot along the way (unless you miss the ambush). The 20+ ones are all pretty good except the end one.

The COV first one is lvl 16-20 and its OK. The build up to the end is weak, not much of a story to follow, but the last 2 missions are awesome. Will try the 20-25 one in the next couple days.

Oh, and next time you are on, unless I have finished them, I have a hero mission (like archvillain) and the cape mission to do, which ends in a hero.

02-01-2006, 06:41:49
so if I am 16 I can't do the 11-15 one?

02-01-2006, 06:58:26
For COH? They may have changed it so that you can mentor in. I know they changed it somehow but never looked up the details. You do NOT want to do that one though. It sucks and is painfull.

Do the 16-20 one with the clockwork king.

02-01-2006, 07:11:40
Dr Gravitino hated the clockwork

I found out i could free transfer my COH characters from the US servers to the UK ones (i played the US beta and then bought the game on import and was originally playing on the US servers)

So after doing that i thought what the hey and bought COV as well. Spent most of the weekend playing it and now have a lvl 14 brute, Vorgeris, who i made to look kind of like a big werewolf.
Like the COV play style and atmosphere, the graphical design is nice too, and they have made some changes to the graphics engine since i last played COH, things like the water effects are much nicer now.

There seem to be a few decent UK supergoups on my server, Union, so next job is to try and hook up with one.
