do not read on, as the next post
contains the answers we have so far.
I just want to avoid somebody saying
"Scissor Sisters." Again!!

The coloured boards are The Doors.

The spoon is Pete Docherty???

The Cars (at the back near the police)
The Postal Service
Ratt (behind the scissors)
Blind Melon (on the fruit stall)

The calendar has one day marked in green - draw your own conclusions.

I'm wondering whether the two cowboys and the girl could be the Alabama 3, but I'm not too sure.

Nills Lagerbaak
30-11-2005, 15:11:18
Why so big though? And they are a little obscure. I'msure you'll find a band called silver spoon.

I prefer my idea.

That'll do.

See. Cheating does pay.

edit: I had the Silver Spoon idea too. There must be a band called that. My google search just returned loads of stuff about sugar.

I'd love it to be right Nills, but I think that might be a little tenuous.

Thompson Twins (was that even the name of a band??)

Scabrous Birdseed
30-11-2005, 16:08:44
Is the bluish-indigo house in the background significant? It's an unusual colour. As is the pink sky, but I guess that's Pink... Is the window behind the bubblegum girl (what's she representing?) Deep Purple?

Scabrous Birdseed
30-11-2005, 16:09:51
Oh, and I had a little brain-lapse earlier (I was tired) - the cake is clearly Cake.

novacane
30-11-2005, 16:16:01
Yeah, the Thompson Twins were a 80's band. You think its them? Whats the significance of the shades and the guitars? Thats why i thought Blues Brothers but should they be classed as a "proper" band.

I had the "blueish-indigo house" as Deep Purple and the girl with pink bubblegum as Pink. Could easily be the way you say though.

Scabrous Birdseed
30-11-2005, 16:28:51
(BTW, as laz said, those are clearly Cowboy Junkies not Alabama 3 - you can see the needle marks.)

Nills Lagerbaak
30-11-2005, 16:28:52
I dunno, but I wouldn't say the blues brothers were a proper band, although did they release a single? In which case they're fair game.

I thought that was a second reference to the Rolling Stones (Exile on Main Street)

Hmm, I think we must assume there is only one reference to each band.

It practically says Street in tiny letters, I couldn't take it as a clearer sign (gettit) for the Streets.
