View Full Version : A man has to be a man

I was wondering. Do girls get pissed off if you don't hit on them after a couple of dates? And they say, he's not a man. It's been a bit o a rollercoster of a weekend. First I thought I had a deep connection with some girl (who I didn't think it was that beautiful) but you know opening of the soul etc. Then I find out she considers me a snob! And that she feels I would be doing her a favor if we were together!!!
OK, the girl I am with has to "click" with me physically wise and she didn't. So maybe she sensed this somehow.
Anyway, she really hurt me with the things she said.
So I go for the girl I really fancy but with whom we don't have that soul connection.
So it appears we're having lots of fun but nothing deep.
So I'm thinking about laying it out on the open with her. That I fancy her I mean. She keeps giving me conflicting signals though. First very enthousiastic about meeting me, then I don't make a move, then she dissapears. So I think about just go for it and see what I can see. Two rejections in a week will be too much though.

shit.

I hate rejection. I feel worse in the morning.

I guess that's why I'm single. No risk, no reward.

But in my case it isn't that simple. As no woman (except a couple) has ever showed any interest in me. Most treat me like I don't exist. It would be stupid for me to ask those women out.

I'll lay it out in the open for her. During the week or this weekend at the latest. I still feel sore from the things the other girl said so I'll wait just a bit. I'd say screw her but that would be doing her a favor! HA! Still it aches. goddammit. But only a bit now. Cursed soul whirlpool harpies.

yes

you'll get use to rejection
this will spring confidence
and you'll actually find out what the limit to your league is
allowing to KNOW and not just feel why you get rejected

IMO, you have a low opinion of yourself (in regards to the opposite sex) because you get rejected, and you get rejected because you have a low opinion of yourself

you have to stop feeling a certain way in order to change, and that is hard. The only way I know to stop feeling a certain way is to become immune to that feeling that is getting in your way by subjecting yourself to it.

when you're angry you go to the gym and take out your agression
when you're sad you watch sad movies to relieve your angst
etc...

why not with rejection?

I think the first girl is probably worried that you are out of her league and lacks confidence in herself- you even say you don't think she's beautiful but you like her because you like her personality/soul. Well tell her that! (Although don't say the bit about her not being beautiful). Beauty is in the eye of the beholder as they say, and if you have a connection with her you should do something about it.

Amen.

You don't always get the ones you want, Paiktis, but if you don't let them know how you feel you won't get any.

And it's not a sure path to success - but silence is a sure path to failure.

Best of luck mate. They run, you chase, you run, they chase - it's all a mad game, with everyone having a different set of rules.

This doesn't deal with me (I tend to make too many posts about myself- sorry), but in general.

In our advanced society and social models, haven't we come to a point where men don't always have to ask women out, and women can ask men out. I think it's pretty clear in most cases if a woman is interested in you. As there is no social stigma of a girl flirting. We no longer have to live in a society where a man has to ask a woman out to the barn dance.

No, see, women only want to be treated like equals when it benefits them. Chivalry and all the old rules must apply.

I did tell her. But after she said all those hurtful things to me. That's ok because I felt relieved because I would be really pushing myself to be with her. That's ok, she sensed it but she tried to make it out that I have a problem with the whole world and not only with her. No problem, defence mechanisms. Funny thing is that when she was through telling the hurtful things she said (and it's very easy to hurt someone if you got a glimpse of their soul) and I replied that I was in shock to hear all of that because I was starting to love her she changed her tune but it was too late.

Anyway that's water under the bridge now.
Off to someone I *really* fancy. I just have to find a good sushi restaurant (long story) and some guts to tell her!

The Norks speaks sense here. A relationship works best IMO if it's on a level footing. Essentially for a relationship to work you need mutual attraction but not only in a physical way. Enjoying someones company and doing stuff as friends is just as important (if not more so) than a good sex life.

Personally I like to be kind and polite to people in general and would say hold a door open for anyone else if I happened to get to it first, that's just good manners.
