Pretty funny....Xbox 360 was a debacle at my store...people throwing huge hissy fits over lining up, being "urged" to buy bundle packs, not enough on hand, etc.

Though the games look glorious on it...especially Call of Duty...my god...aside from some hovering dead guys on the stairs bug, it looks flawless.
My PS2 is rapidly seeming like a friggin' Atari.

cool

what about graphic quality/definition of games? how does it compare to the xbox? does having a TVHD make any difference, compared to a 'normal' tv?

Has it crashed yet? Global reports of regular, repeated crashing incidents with XBox already, hope it doesn't get blown out of proportion as it looks like a great piece of kit.

No crashes of course. The hype around the crashing come from a few dozen reports on forums, when you consider that there are over a million of these things out there the incidence rate is really low.

Pretty big difference in the launch titles, but it'll become more amplified later. All of the launch titles only use 1 of the 3 3.2GHz cores, and most of them also don't implement "tiling" in the graphics chip to get the free anti-aliasing and other features.

But they're still gorgeous. Perfect Dark 0 has a lot of huge environments and very sharp textures in particular, best explosions I've ever seen in a game, too.

PGR3 you probably know a lot about...the detail on the cars and environments and even the crowd is spectacular. What I especially love is the high-dynamic range lighting...like when you exit a tunnel that you've been in for about 10 seconds, you get this overbright effect that makes it hard to see for a second or so as your pupils would be adjusting.

As for HDTV vs SDTV, I think it's quite a big difference.

It's easier to see further ahead in HDTV because of the resolution difference, and in a high-speed racer like PGR3 I much prefer progressive scan to interlaced, it looks a lot more fluid. The colours are a bit more vibrant, the textures sharper, and the view distance longer.

Compare a PC game at 640x480 versus 1280x720 or 1920x1080, and that's the difference between SDTV (640x480) and HDTV.
