That list doesn't excite me.

Nothing there that really blows my skirt up, as it were, though I'm sure the sports games are suitably nice looking.

But as KG said, Fuck FPS on a console.

Likewise underwhelmed, though I don't know what GUN or Kameo is right now and can't look it up (thanks Websense!)

GUN is a GTA-esque western.

Completely boring. I would consider buying an Xbox 360 in a few years, if I have a TV, to play Halo 2 and 3, Jade Empire, the Mass Effect trilogy, and maybe a couple others. Oblivion deserves to be played on a PC. Apparently, MS wants to port the entire Xbox catalog to the 360 eventually (there are 200 titles currently announced for support), and, interestingly, the old games will support the 360's high-def capability and the superior anti-aliasing. There might be more of interest in that collection.

Most hardware launches are like that. I remember the PS2 have similar problems.

Very true. Another reason not to rush out and buy any new console (aside from lack of launch titles and the fact the price will come down massively).

Although I saw the most insane racing game on the PS3...it looks better than any game I have ever seen.

Racing games rock opn consoles!

And literally seconds later I see that Asher has one. :D

are we sure the prices will come down soon? Except if sales figures really are disappointing, I doubt MS will do the same circus with the 360 than with the xbox when it came out (andwas significantly reduced after a few months)

The line up is fairly disappointing, except for project zero (hail FPS on consoles, when you have a large tvhd, what you loose in control you win in visual impact). Apparently fifa 'road to world cup' is a massive rip off (even worse than the fifa06 version than came out for last generation consoles).

As my xbox just died (suspect timing) I might have to buy it all the same...

I didn't say they'd come down soon but I think they will follow the trend of every other recent console and come down.

Possibly not until the PS3 hits the shops though.

that seems a logical assumption : they'll release halo3 and cut the prices at the same time the ps3 comes out... nice double whammy...

Yep. :)

Aside from the few crashing issues it seems to be getting really good reviews.

I understand the really good games won't come out until the developers figure out how to write effective code for the 360 anyway.

The vast, vast majority of people have no problems with it. The people that do seem to have overheating powersupplies, which is easily fixed (it's external) by exchanging it or putting it in a place with better ventilation and air flow.

It's awesome, IMO. Mine has no problems.

I have PGR3, PD0, and NHL 2K6.

PGR3 is a lot like PGR2 (it's based on the same engine), but gorgeous. PD0 feels a LOT like PD and GoldenEye. NHL 2K6 is like NHL 2K6 for Xbox but much prettier.
