I heard the title track (I think) yesterday and was left a bit non-plussed. Its quite a nice song but .............

On first listen this album is wank. Just sounds like lazy demos rather than proper recordings, and the songs are no way near strong enough to get away with it. The re-recording of Killamangiro is utterly pointless, though it's probably the best song here, while the rest of it sounds exactly like those old pete doherty/Libertines acoustic bootlegs that have been for years, but probably not even that good.

I hope its a grower, but I'm not optimistic.

Here's a great interview with petey boy:

very nice stuff, certainly brings across the kind of beautiful and fucked-up fascination he carries (well for me and some others at least)

I liked this bit:
"I ask him whether he thinks life is better with or without drugs. "Yeah. yeah. Course it is." Better without? "No, it's better with or without." He fails to give a straight answer."

This album's grown on me quite a bit and I now think it's pretty good, not great but I think I prefer it to the second Libertines record.

It had it's moments, but yeah.

I've only listened to it twice. Makes for a good dust magnet.
