Some idiot on a bike decided to collide with a car on my road to work today. Took me 1 hour and 45 minutes to drive the 40 km to work today. Can somebody calculate how many km and miles per hour that is?

They called in an ambulance, so I guess it was a pretty good collision.

How to you know it was the biker that was the idiot, or is that a given ?

It's a given. :D

I reckon the bike was driving through a traffic jam, and a hit a car that was switching lanes.

Often the case. I don't believe human nature is geared to spot ultra thin vehicles, no matter how much one thinks one has looked, and no matter how often the public safety films harp on about it. It's a blame game when something occurs, but no one ever seems to have a proper solution.

(Especially true if the bike is coming up, overtaking, on the wrong side of the road.)

Be comforted in the knowledge that although your commute was unpleasant, it was much more unpleasant for the biker.

That's about twice as fast as the average speed in the centre of London...
