For my son, Prosper. We procrastinated and thought we wouldn't find one (preschool is pretty competitive/expensive here, for some ridiculous reason) but after suggesting it months ago, my wife called a nearby high school...it's all the vogue for them to run schools for kids and have the high schoolers get credits for college.

It was kind of tough, actually...I got a bit choked up dropping him off and his little brother had an absolute conniption fit about not being able to join.

Parenting can be a truly bittersweet agony at times...

Pick him up in a few...wonder how it went...some of those other kids looked pretty...vulnerable.

:bash:

Just wait until he starts screaming at the teacher, beating the other kids up, tipping desks and running away from class to hide under people's vehicles and biting the security guards. Oh, wait, that was my son. Never mind.

It's late in Sept. to start school. Did you send him to one of those smarmy prep schools?

Rhiannon has been at school for three weeks now. She looks great in her little school uniform.

Nah, this is pre-school. The "students" probably just poo themselves and cry alot. ;)

He's potty trained, dammit!
I have no idea what goes on there...could be animal sacrifices...he's oddly tight lipped.

Yes, so was my example :) He just got worse in first grade.

Nowadays he hides under his chair and cries, swears, bangs his head on things and tries to scale the cyclone fencing to get away. When he's not stealing school lunches.

He's in a "special" class now so I forget what year-analogue he's supposed to be doing.

What an example to give your kid ! No wonder he hides under the chair and cries.

what's pre-school, I figure it's 3 to 5 or 6 like we have here
Or is it that kindergarten and pre-school it just one year before primary?

btw, in Italy kindergarten it's called asylum (http://it.wordreference.com/it/en/translation.asp?iten=asilo)!

By "they" you mean "I", don't you?

Pre-school is probably only for 3 & 4 year olds...5 is when state sanctioned kindergarten starts.
