The names Boris and Johnson are not usuable together, just doesn't fit. Sounds like a russian undercover agent.

Saw him wheeling his bike in London last year.

No, that would be the 'I met Borris Badanov!' thread. The clue is in the title.

And how would you know that... :P

We did little "I Heart Boris" badges (in the style of I Heart New York) at my marketing company and they have been one of the most popular things ever....!

Do you want one Allie/anyone else? :D

You don't remember everything that happened at the After Dark then.

Kitsuki

You were just so gentle Funko.

Kitsuki

Oh, and Boris should be made High King of the entire world... Then I'd be happy, as would everyone else.

He's blatantly an Old English Sheepdog who's been partially shaved and stuffed into an ill-fitting Burton's suit.

Vincent
21-09-2005, 17:45:23
Who is he anyway

fp
21-09-2005, 18:09:25
Conservative MP for Henley-on-Thames. Classic posh English eccentric. An adulterer, of course.

Vincent
21-09-2005, 18:11:47
Ah, so He's what we call here "Englšnder"

Posh. Bumbling. Adulterous. Badly dressed. A bit too studied in his shambling persona. Liar. Overly friendly with unpleasant thieves.

English through and through.

Kitsuki

The thing with Boris is that he is loved by one and all, regardless of political persuasion...

I think he's a doddering old toff who lives in a completely different world to me. I don't love him at all.

He's not all that old.

I think he is set to be (already is?) the new student icon - replacing Jim Bowen and other such crap people that are worshipped just for being a bit different or quaint.

Drekkus
22-09-2005, 08:49:19
I have never heard of him.

Gary
22-09-2005, 09:10:51
Not surprised. But he's world famous in Britain.

Funko

He's not that old but his hair is so blonde it looks grey/white.

Kitsuki

But he acts and talks like someone who was educated in a public school in Victorian times and grew in a sheltered countryside manor with servants and no television. He strikes me as the sort that could tell you all about what coat to wear and what gun to use when you go out shooting small animals but couldn't tell you a single thing about what young people are interested in or care about.

That may be bollocks but he makes no attempt to appear normal and plays up his cartoony airheaded toff buffoon image if anything.

Actually he's pretty great with young people - the first time I met him was at Glastonbury two years ago - and if you can name me one other famous politician who has gone there I'd be impressed.

Paddy Ashdown.
And, lest we forget, Michael Eavis stood as Labour candidate in a general election.

Was making a slur against Ashdown...

Michael Eavis seems like a really genuinely nice guy, and I love Glastonbury! :D

Paddy Ashdown was great. SAS officer to social worker to politician. Nice career.

Kitsuki
23-09-2005, 11:27:07
I never really had much time for him as a politician; far better/effectual Lib Dems around... Interesting career though as you say.

No he wasn't. He lost to David Heathcote-Amory in the only General Election he contested.

Fah- kids today. Got no idea about politics, have they?
