I only make new AEs when I forget the passwords to the old ones

ever after I began using the same password for every CG AE, I have'nt lsot any

(I also made a new AE because I wanted one easy to spell)

I get to learn linux!

You haven't learned linux yet?

What the hell sort of physics grad student are you?

One who has spent a while goofing off. And I was trying to be a straight analytic theory student (no computers needed) for quite some time.

They asked me if I wanted access to the farm computers. I said I didn't need it right now, because I am not running any jobs right away. However, code others have written is also posted there and I need access to it (to learn it). I also need access to the databases there.

Oh well, I at least learned a few things tonight (And set up some of the programs I had access to).

Is it mega fast with gogs of RAM and vorpals for hard disks?

My new work computer has a 25 inch LCD screen (widescreen aspect ratio)

So silly and unnecessary...

But does it bring in the chicks?

JM^3

I think that the computers I have access to are beastly

and the one I have here looks nice (has an LCD, I am sure not 25 inch (which is huge, bigger then the 23 inch trinitron I have had home)))

the one that I will use initially down there is at the end of its cycle, and will be retired before the end of this year.. so will probably suck (I can get it retired early if I complain about it)

Ah. So not a new new computer. Simply a new to you PC.

Asher's honour is safe for now.

well, the one I will be using (soon) down there will be brand new

and I think that they have a pretty beastly cluster or whathave you down there...

Beastly?

Cue Asher.

yeah

he was working on that amazing simulations computer, right?

I'm not sure exactly what he did.

I am not sure exactly what he does either. I thought he was involved in it though.

I actually want a laptop, because I will be traveling so much (and I would rather it be personal).

I am thinking IBM X series.

I am mostly just glad to be doing physics, and something that will be valuable (Although my current project isn't), even it isn't the coolest.

Congrats! So I guess you found some group to do research in now... Any idea on what your project will focus on?

JM^3

GeN at Jefferson Labs

it is a nuclear experiment, determining a form factor at higher Q^2

GeN?

find the electric form factor of the neutron

or something like that, maybe a constant from the form factors (which is f1 and f2)..

I really am a bit rusty on this, have been interested in condensed matter more recently
