View Full Version : Adamski Redux

Following on from seeing Adamski playing for Rapid Vienna in the footy last night i thought i'd try and find some info about the original Adamski, the Dj behind the classic Killer track with Seal.

Well apparently Admaski is dead, and Adam Sky lives. You can see his webby at

You can hear loads of samples of mixes he's done, including a few remixes he has done of some weird looking chick calling herself 'crazy girl'...

Anyway i quite liked some of the tracks, you might like them too.

R.I.P Adamski. All hail Adam Sky! An inspired new name!

Speaking of Adamski, I once bought "the best of" album....Killer was the only listendable track on there.

Still I shall check out the new stuff....

Remember Normski?

15-09-2005, 14:44:58
media whore, i remember he presented some snowboarding show on channel 4 last time i saw him (a long time ago)

but check this bullshit out:

Normski is the leading authority on urban and contemporary culture
still he has done some interesting stuff as well from the looks of it...photography, directing short films and documentaries, etc.

Jim Bowes - the next Normski?

15-09-2005, 14:54:41
he certainly wishes

He certainly does. Might require dyeing too!

Dying would be better.

15-09-2005, 16:34:05
No, I wouldn't wish death. Just enough pain and injury to stop him compering and wasting everybody's time.

 2nded

15-09-2005, 17:00:07
be careful, he probably googles his name every day to see what the media buzz about him is

15-09-2005, 17:02:25
OK. Fuck you Jim Bowes you parasitic metrosexual bastard and welcome to Counterglow.

15-09-2005, 17:08:47

Picking up a multitude of skills along the way Jim Bowes is the ultimate multi-platform journalist, creative and presenter.

In January 2003 Jim opened a retro clothes store, called The Yo-Yo Bazaar, in Surrey

I hope other people see the incredible gulf between those two statements

The pictures on his own website never fail to crack me up. I admire his determination to succeed but if it comes at the price of everyone thinking you're a cunt, then he's very welcome to it. The cap fits him well.

Ooh Jim, pout for me........looking good.......

http://jimbowes.com/biog.htm (http://)

Knows about: Music, movies, internet, renovating houses, food, quiz show catchphrases.

Likes: Food, traveling to new places, surprising people, challenges, new things, minimal design.

Thought: Live each day like the page of a good auto-biography.

Why?: Then you can writing a brilliant auto-biography and make a shitload of money.

The term "Jack of all trades - Master of none" springs to mind.

Knows about the internet? I could pick holes in this all day.

I almost detect an attempt to poke fun at himself here. Much too late for that James.

I can't devote any more thought to this moron.

Jim is a really nice guy and very able to take the piss out of himself - FACT!

15-09-2005, 17:32:26
And his current job is web designer/programmer I think.

Stop giving him attention!

"likes surprising people"

like jumping out from behind park benches with his cock out? :p

I think people get a bad impression when they've only seen him compere. I did.

But he is a great guy. The festival breakfast he did for us was great. :)

16-09-2005, 10:32:37
The problem I have with him is that a compere does not need so much publicity. Its always advertised like its part of the show and a real treat to see Jim Bowes LIVE. Its not. Its a chore. He seems to lack any humility.

16-09-2005, 10:43:05
He's trying to make it as a presenter, part of that is getting his name out and about. It's also one of those jobs that is pretty much intrinsically annoying.

Anyway I understand what you mean, I felt a bit the same before I got to know him. From everything you know/see of him before you meet him properly you are expecting him to be a knob but when you talk to him he's actually really disarming and down to earth. He's quite aware of both his real and perceived flaws and quite open about them. Which is quite unusual I think. Nice guy, good friend etc.

It's a shame his rap-off vs Austin never went ahead.

16-09-2005, 11:57:48
And. Never. Ever. Will.

16-09-2005, 11:59:15
Jim still has his backing tracks...

16-09-2005, 13:04:51
Maybe an alternative challenger could be found

16-09-2005, 13:24:36
well volunteered.

16-09-2005, 13:29:33
I think K_G would do a better job than Austin to be honest.
