Gorgeous and like most of your stuff very slightly surreal.

took about 90 to get that one, it doesn't need any special hardware, you just shoot it with flash to freeze the motion. I might try messing around to see if I can get the same exposure at a lower ISO as this ones rather noisy.

The hardest bit is getting the shutter timing right, most of the discarded ones had almost nothing in them. I didn't get any of the "crown" style splashed though, maybe I need to try it with something more viscous or drip from a greater height.

What kind of camera did you use, and how/where did you take it?

Its a Fuji s7000 (http://www.dcresource.com/reviews/fuji/finepix_s7000-review/). Its a good high end camera from about 2 years ago. Its not SLR quality but its the best I could get at the time at a reasonable price.

Took it on the living room table with a bowl of water, a couple of desk lamps to get more light and a eye dropper to drip the water with.

It's good for a Fuji.

Nice picture. Much better than my pictures of clocks.

He posts a clearly phallic symbol and then claims it's not amateur porn ?

Excellent picture though, and all the more impressive if you weren't using an audio trigger to time it.

I wish I had that sort of kit. I was using the old "take hundreds of shots and one will work" approach.

I quite like the fuji digitals, thier SLRs are not up to much but the prosumers are usually good. The s7000 does have a noise problem but it only really shows up at ISO 800 or 400 in low light which is pushing things anyway. It is a two year old camera and back then there wasn't much to match it.

I'm planning on buying a DSLR when I qualify as a teacher - I should get a 5000 retention bonus at the end of my first year to stop me going to the private sector. Given the way prices are coming down if I spend 700-800 I should be able to get whatever the D70 level camera is and a couple of lenses for that.

Actuall as I've got no school today (see other thread) I might try a few more of these.

Cool pic, beta. Looks like a computer graphic.

My Cannon Digital has such a slow response time between pushing the button and the picture actually being taken that I doubt I could take such a picture. Well, I could with my 35mm but not my digital.
