My boss wants me to think of a few techno things we can use in a presentation/demo room. So far I've thought of an electronic white board, a large plasma/LCD screen, WiFi, VoIP & videoconferencing.

Anyone else any ideas about must haves?

Well, never mind the luxuries, think of the basics. The best filter coffee machine you can lay your hands on.

Seriously, I think a projector will kick any whiteboard or large screen at a fraction of the the cost.

We really like and use our SmartBoard - which sounds like your electronic white board, I guess - is it one that you project the image on to and you can tap/doubletap, etc. on the screen to interact with what's on it?

the only annoying thing about ours is having to calibrate it every time we use it, because people are always going back and forth between using the smartboard or the regular projection screen.

We have three of those whiteboard things (ours are called SoftBoards) and we're planning to mount one to the wall in a lab-type environment used with a ceiling mounted projector - hoping that that will eliminate the need for recurring calibration.

Pity the people I work with are generally too clueless to use it though, it reall is quite cool.

I once dreamed up a low-tech 3 color "black" board (for I was in school at the time) composed of a magnetic or radio-based "marker", and a matrix of LEDs in blue, red and green. Sadly, I was only 14 at the time and had no idea how to design, engineer or construct a device like that, or even patent the idea. So I was quite thrilled to make use of the SoftBoard many years later :)
