Posting this here partly because it's the easiest way to get most of my Reading friends informed but any CGers who want to come are welcome.

Sleeping space might be a little limited.

Cool, I've been meaning to pm you or Tizzy to ask when the housewarming party was taking place. :)

Where is your new place?

Funko
31-08-2005, 12:59:59
Down the alleyway that is between The AD and the Kukhuri.

Drekkus
31-08-2005, 13:00:37
Kuthoeri is a great name for a brothel.

Nav

You live next door to the AD?

Is that your life's long dream and ambition fulfilled?! :D

Tizzy
31-08-2005, 13:27:03
Not quite next door but it's at most 2 minutes away (at staggering speed)

Venom
31-08-2005, 13:44:07
I'll be there!

Tizzy
31-08-2005, 13:48:21
One of these days you're going to say that and mean it.
And then I will be scared.

Venom
31-08-2005, 13:49:14
That's why I say it, to suprise and scare when the time actually comes.

Lurker the Second
31-08-2005, 14:23:05
Can you post one of those satellite pics of the location please.

Lurker the Seconder
31-08-2005, 15:38:14

Funko
31-08-2005, 15:43:10

Lurker the Seconder
31-08-2005, 15:49:50

Funko
31-08-2005, 15:51:38
I'm scared of Venom getting hold of cruise missiles.

Lurker the Seconder
31-08-2005, 15:54:10
and scared of being taken by aliens also.............?

bwaaaahhaaaaaaa I'll second that second option

Funko
31-08-2005, 16:05:26
Save your cryin' for the aliens 'cause they don't stand a chance against us.

novacane
31-08-2005, 16:21:45
I always thought it was "Saw saviour crying............." but I shall bow to your family connections.

Funko

I don't have an official answer. :)

On the CD it definitely sounds like big Pete sings "so save your", little Pete is less clear. I always I thought it was a play on words. Save your / saviour..

I thought it was all about how people used to have religion and it's no longer relevant but we do have crazy alien nuts (so save your crying for the aliens) and the end of that line's a backhanded comment about the way humans always triumph in movies/computer games etc.

Not sure who wrote that one, if it's little Pete he says the sounds of the words together is more important than the meaning...

Looking at the full lyrics though, I'm not even sure which way would make more sense. I'll ask Pete.

Saviour do you remember me
I was your friend long ago
When you rescued me

Do you remember the time we met
on a friday evening sunset
do you remember the time it took
ah to lift our shit from the sea

So save your crying for the Aliens
'cause they don't stand a chance, a chance against us

Saviour don't come back
I don't think we need you anymore
The world's come to
The world's come to
And this world don't need nobody

Yeah, both make sense really. Perhaps a play on words as you say. Interesting theory on the meaning of the song. Certainly fits. Have heard it a few times now and always perceived it on a human level (i.e a relationship) and never given the "aliens" bit any deep thought. I like the theory about us always beating the aliens.

I agree with your brothers stance on lyrics. Though theres obviously a time and place for both.

Funko

Yeah, it definitely works as a relationship song as well. Perhaps a metaphor.

I think Funko is correct about the words, though I'm not so sure they have any real meaning at all.

Interested parties should check out the Gramercy & Debaser cover of that song. Much better than the original...

Funko is too normal now.

Ah, for the days when he was a radioactive mutant.

We've reverse-engineered their technology to produce power suits and blaster bombs, and we have huge stockpiles of captured elerium-115.

(I didn't know it was Claire's birthday until about 10 minutes after I sent the e-mail about the party then she told me... there is never going to be a perfect weekend for everyone etc.)
