For an excellent trappist, check the avatar. Probably the best in the world, although some heathens prefer Westvleteren.

the best beer, or the best trappist?

Strictly speaking, there are only 5 or 6 trappist beers.
Orval, Chimay, Rochefort, Westvleteren, Westmalle, and maybe another.
I personally prefer other elgian beers, but Rochefort and Chimay are lovely indeed and Orval very distinctive

Correct... La Trappe used to be considered trappist as well, but officially they're not a trappist anymore. All remaining trappists are Belgian now.

Anyway, this makes me thirsty, I'll have one tonight.

Never had Westvleteren. Must rectify that at some point...

I thought this was going to be about me. That's a name I've not seen in a long time.

Rochefort 10 is one of my favorite beers though the price is very unreasonable.

It's my favourite as well, and luckily it's not too expensive over here with Belgium being around the corner and all. About 3,50 or 4 euros in bars, if they have it ofcourse.
