...it's all that sex that's corrupting our youth ! (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/4717139.stm)

Help stamp out sex now !

Gary, you really need to put in a small summary in your opening post.

Gary
26-07-2005, 11:38:52
I must remember to do so, so you don't think that the title and the request to stamp out sex covered it :)

Drekkus
26-07-2005, 11:44:50
it covers your opinion on the subject very well, yes. :D

I'd rather have a big summary as I have difficulties reading his posts.

My sentiments. You can show kids people being ripped to shreds and ultraviolence. However when it comes to something that is beautiful and natural (unless it is Venom doing it) then people get in such a uproar about it. Doesn't really make much sense to me...

I'm guessing the sex wasnt portrayed through a vaselined 70's joy of sex lens, but it was probably a machine gun toting pimp getting sucked off by a tatooed ho.

That's Republicans for you. From what I understand the sex scenes were originally planned but the developer found stores wouldn't carry it with the sex scenes so they disabled them. In order to see them then you have to go into the game code and reenable them; most of us would consider that to be a hack of the game files.

Yet here come the masses of moral hypocrites. One of the best things Larry Flint ever did was expose a dozen of these preachy bastards who constantly talk about morality & their religion as having had extra marital affairs.

Check your facts dick face. It was democrats leading the charge. You really should learn to read through entire stories before trying to pass off personal bias as facts.

She indeed was. She's been a major force for censorship. Her and Joe Lieberman.

It appears that the publisher has blatantly circumvented the rules in order to peddle sexually explicit material to our youth

 That's the best you can come up with? A horde of Republicans whine and you faind a handful of Democrats and try to pass them off as leading it? You've got your parties muggled up.

That was part of making her & her husband more palatable to to conservative fucktards. To know ones surprise but Gore it didn't work. Joe Liberman is a democrat in a conservative district so he normally pretends he's a Republican in order to keep his seat.

actually the violence is an issue in the U.S.

the game manufacture and the game platform are being sued over the murder of 2 Alabama police officers and a dispatcher.

the kid said he was influenced by the game GTA.

Ah the kid will say anything that he thinks will get him off the hook (or at least a lighter sentence).

You're flat out wrong Oerdin and your lame ass "appeal to the conservatives" reasoning holds about as much water as a desert lake. Nobody censors like the democrats. Southern Bible thumpers whine, but nobody drops the hammer like the left.

So not only was it a bad thing but it was a bad thing done for bad reasons?

"So, while US teenagers can, in the words of one Reg reader, "pimp hos, pop a cap in a drug dealer while driving a car stolen at gunpoint", they may not indulge in sexually explicit acts with their virtual girlfriends because "that threatens the very fabric of American society"."

-from Gary's linked Register article.

I'm tempted to see how many legislators are left over from the 1970 inquiry into television or the 1985 inquiry into porn. I think that some legislators go to Washington and then proceed to hang on long after they've outlived their usefulness. Media is a recurring target, but usually congress just ends up having hearings, and that's all.

Anyway, like I said in the other thread, a 100% successful ban can only stop dissemination of ideas. Impressionable types will simply latch onto other ideas.
