23-07-2005, 17:28:18
Is the shower going to remain completely open like this ?

mr.G
23-07-2005, 19:47:29
Jep, it's the top floor of an 1930's dykehouse
one end of the space is the bathroom the other end is the masterbedroom, will post photo''s at the end of the week when it is finished.

there is a 1.2x2,4m glass thingy that comes out of a woodenfloor it's a kinda magic.

Remodeling old houses can be fun though hard work. When I lived in Sacramento I rented a room from a fellow who was remodeling his Victorian which had been built in the 1890s. It was a lovely house though the lack of a garage was a bit annoying.

MoSe
25-07-2005, 09:48:27

There's just something inherently wrong-looking about building a wooden shower.

MoSe
27-07-2005, 09:07:49
not moreso than a wooden boat imho

mr.G
27-07-2005, 23:07:29

What is the material on the inside of the wall b/t the toilet and sink? Also, how do you protect against mold or mildew forming between the raised floor and subfloor where the drain is? Even if that's not a problem, how do you clean it?

(Not that I'd personally care about the cleanliness, it's just an intellectual curiosity.)

Lurker the Second

The material, plywood + epoxy ( the two component thinghy they use for the outside of a boat) the shower is an inverse boat.

once a year 1/3 of the upperdek needs to be lift to clean the underdeck.
at the place of the real drain (right under the shower) you can easaly remove one piece of wood to clean the drain ( pubic hair and all)

I will post more pics when the nice pics are taken by a photographer

If I was taking a crap and the doorbell rang b/c the pizza delivery guy was there, would I hit my head on the ceiling if I stood up too fast and wasn't paying attention?

mr.G
20-09-2005, 19:57:44
if you jump up 2,9 metres (as you normally do while finishing your fine pile of shjit) jesjes then you will hit your head

Lurker the Second
20-09-2005, 20:15:33
That is often a problem with innovative, cool looking design. It can be so impractical.

Drekkus
20-09-2005, 23:14:27
Wow, looks cool, piet. That showerhead is great, makes you wonder why normal showerheads are still so small you have to move around to get wet.

Can people taller than 1.65m stand under it? :p

mr.G
21-09-2005, 08:11:45
 on their knees jesjes
no o/c, the showerhead hangs at +/- 2.1m

Drekkus
21-09-2005, 08:21:46
What's the square in the left lower corner for, keeping the soap?

mr.G
21-09-2005, 08:34:25
jes, at the shower side you have place for the shampoo soap etc. and a see through.

At the other side neasr the sink, place for your toothbrush (2x electra) etc. and place for gel wax
At the side near the wc, place for toilet paper place for toiletpaper stock (10 rolls in the the wall, you can see one) and place for the skidmark brush.

Drekkus
21-09-2005, 08:40:06
Do you have to wipe the glass after showering against chalkattack?

mr.G
21-09-2005, 08:48:53
no, once a month or so

what's wrong with you, eaten some flesh with too many female hormones?

Drekkus
21-09-2005, 08:53:01
No, I just hate cleaning.
