For the first time ever PETA might actually have a valid point.

Mulesing is the process where the skin around a sheep's ass is cut away so that scar tissue forms there. The purpose is to prevent a maggot infestation which, if left unchecked, would eat the sheep alive. Cutting the skin off of an animal does strike me as excesive though I conceed doing so might save the animals life.

I wonder if there is an alternative treatment which is not being persued for cost reasons. I also wonder how rare this maggot infestation is because if it only effects a few animals per year then is it right to cut the skin off of every animal? Of course, if the disease is very common in Australia then the procedure would still be necissary.

I'm just at a loss because I'm used to laughing at everything PETA puts out and it is strange for me to think they might actually have a point.

I hope they batter and deep fry those mutton rings.

Some people here should have had their asses cut long ago. Fucking maggots.

I think its strange that you usually laugh at PETA yet agree with this.

Not everyone would have gotten polio, so that vaccine was tottally wasted on so many people.

I do wonder if there is a chemical treatment that would work without cutting their poor little assholes off.

Maybe cutting the assholes prevents them from abuse from the funkos of this world.
